Aramex global shopper

Do they function like AGS ie shipping forwarding?

Buyee stores your items for free for 30 days and allows consolidation. You can for example purchase on Amazon Japan those items which don't ship to SA and you can consolidate them in one parcel. Of note one should be careful about big and light items as DHL sometimes doesn't like large items but there is a shipping calculator you can use, so a small and heavy item may be cheaper to ship than a large number of big but lighter ones: volumetric weight.

At shipping, on Buyee at least you can edit the customs declaration, so if they misclassified something, you can change the tariff code yourself. Of course they will refuse to lower the amounts artficially.

So they function much better. Coupons also exist. For example using a Buyee coupon I purchased a product on Rakuten Shopping which actually cost me less than it would have otherwise including their fees, and fee discount coupons are released often so you often don't pay the fee or the local shipping because discounts. Zenmarket also stores for free for up to 60 days. Discovery Japan I've only used once for a single product.

You pay the shopping service and they can also buy the item for you, or you use their interface for Rakuten, YJ and Mercari. I suspect Buyee make their money by claiming back the VAT. They don't deduct the VAT although Discovery J did deduct the Japan vat on an item for me, as it's meant for export. But with AGS you also can't claim VAT back as it's a local sale.

For single items AGS works well, with Amazon at least. But for consolidation you're a bit st-ffed.

AGS also has a problem. I wanted to buy something from Amazon Singapore but that site requires an SMS code be sent to verify delivery. AGS apparently can't do that.
I ended up buying a similar product for less from a Japanese website.

I see that some Australian businesses are cancelling orders made to AGS. I had a $20 Australian part shipped out to my AGS address but then I see the courier returned the item and the shop deleted the order. I will have to get PayPal to refund me.

Didn't know that Australians were such scumbags.

EDIT: They're not scumbags, order not cancelled but their courier, "CouriersPlease" system is borked and the parts shop had to sort it out manually. Now have to see how good Aramex Australia is ... and it has 1.5 stars on Google.

I wish customs would stop cutting into my packages with a moerse stanley knife when opening them to see what is inside. It doesn't matter if it is wrapped in thin plastic or brown paper, they will hack it open and almost always cut into the box of whatever item or collectible I bought. Idiots.

SA customs not looking for drugs. Looking for ways to charge you more duty and VAT.

Well my Australian aircon part was delivered by Couriers Please within 2 days of shipping and signed in by FastWway OZ and then transferred to Aramex and was on the AGS system within minutes. I see they declared the item as a pre-GST price of 18 AUD. I'm now asking the supplier for an invoice because maybe an invoice was not included, just in case Aramex demands one. Gonna see if the bright people at Oliver Tambo Aramex will want INCO terms... that the Australian domestic supplier should have included for a local Australian domestic sale. I hope it won't be a fsck up as with that Thai sale. At least everything is in English.

Shopped like a madman yesterday and today on amazon.co.jp for Amazon Prime Day. Mostly electronics and scale models, but some niche snacks and chocolates. It's going to be fun seeing what customs does when they inspect the packages.

Well I can say I've had fair treatment from AGS. It was only a 0.08kg packet from Australia with an air temp sensor inside but they processed it well. They still needed an invoice but as that was in English there were no issues. I see tracking now calls these Shop and Ship packages if you track on Aramex.com

Have to say, really dread using AGS when one run out of all other options really and fall back to this service to get items.

Sent 2 items to Florida recently. Must say, USPS deliveries for one is annoying, because they probably just deliver a notice, then AGS only send someone to pick up everything at the local post office, I guess once a week. So just annoying.

Then, the 2 packages arrive in JHB and even though the customs payments went off last week automatically, only one of the packages now departed JHB and I have to guess what random reason is delaying the other package, still stated as Shipment Held pending customs release, yet it cleared customs earlier in the tracking.

Clowns really need to sort out the statuses in the tracking.

Guys anyone know if they will ship vape juice from the uk. Theres a flavour I really need but they dont do international shipping. AGS says they dont do
"Cigarettes, Cigars, Electronic Cigarettes, Tobacco, etc." with shop and ship which I think is another name for AGS.
Do you guys think they will ship it and if they dont what will they do with it, are they even gonna care/check.
Also if I get the seller to hide it and label the packages differently and submit a different invoice do you think it will be able to get through.

Just don't - i had a huge fight with them over even shipping mods - UK tried every trick they could think of to not ship on.

MyUS and Post Box Courier maybe will be able to ship your vape juice? Perhaps? But I suppose if it's flammable (I don't know, is it?) they may not be able to.

Amazon com or UK may be able to ship, they ship some vape juices to SA:

I need to order a motorcycle part from either US or UK , which would you guys recommend global shopper or myUS?

If your supplier is able to provide a proper English language commercial invoice then either one will work. MyUS will get to you much faster, although AGS will be cheaper.

Also check on Ebay, you may find the part shipping with Ebay Global Shipping which has insurance/courier (FedEx) and tax included.

I got an injector from the UK with UPS. Their UPS fee was super low. Then I got nailed locally with duties on top of tax and clearance fees. Next time AGS. Should be less clearance fees and hopefully no extra duties.

Different stores have different contracts with different couriers. I've found some suppliers offering super cheap FedEx, while others have cheaper DHL. UPS is usually the most expensive one. But recently the difference between Aramex and UPS was like R20 so I went with UPS and got the item in 4 days from the UK.

Funny is that usually FedEx Economy is more expensive than FedEx Priority.
