How long should you wait before logging a package claim on AGS?

As my package got delivered on Monday in the US

Monday the 14th? Would need give more time, that go and fetch parcels send vis USPS, once a week I think.

If USPS tracking shows delivered, it does not mean aramex has it

If your supplier is able to provide a proper English language commercial invoice then either one will work. MyUS will get to you much faster, although AGS will be cheaper.

Also check on Ebay, you may find the part shipping with Ebay Global Shipping which has insurance/courier (FedEx) and tax included.
Does FedEx still charge their usual R400 odd disbursement fee when it arrives in South Africa if you buy something via a seller using EBay global shipping?

If you go through the Ebay Global Shipping Program you don't pay anything extra. It's the same as the Amazon Global shipping where you pay the tax and duty upfront. Ebay doesn't refund you any difference though if they overstimate the fee unlike Amazon which does. Pitney Bowes is the intermediary for Ebay.

If you ship directly with FedEx they charge R150 disbursement fees these days. I've found FedEx Economy from Japan to be quite cost effective and it's as fast as Priority. It's R1300 for a large 6kg box. Funnily enough it's cheaper than airmail and EMS.

MyUS also has an option to pre-pay tax and duty. But it's not compatible with their cheapest courier option.

There are a few other internet sites which also handle tax and duty for you.

AGS used to accept invoices in German but not anymore. Now with every order from Germany they either phone me asking what it is, or they email me demanding an English invoice which I don't have.

Ask chatgpt if it can translate it

Chrome can't print a translated online invoice properly. It is totally messed up. Then I tried Edge and same story. If ChatGPT can translate a PDF or saved HTML file then that might be useful.

Edit: ChatGPT is no help for this

Edit: I translated an order confirmation email in my gmail and saved to PDF. It is still messed up a bit, but looks better than any other method I've tried so far.

What about using google translate and then instead of printing it as a PDF, use windows snipping tool (Winkey+Shift+S) to take a screenshot, then convert the screenshot to a PDF.

What a disappointment about chatgpt

I think they need to copy and paste each line item onto their system. So an image won't do. But I might be mistaken. Next time when I'm not in a rush I will send them a screenshot of the translated invoice and see what they do.

You will have to invest in a professional PDF editor or use one of the Wondershare PDF products and leave the watermark there.

UPDF is also a fair alternative. If you don't want to pay for Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Aramex, really on the ball these days, seems get my parcel tomorow.

Overseas orders show on the invoice:
Item total
VAT
Shipping

Usually AGS charges me customs VAT this side on the Invoice value without the local shipping that I paid that side.

My question now, is what about the VAT that side. Do I pay customs VAT this side on the value of the order including the VAT that I paid that side, or without that VAT?

Okay so you pay VAT this side on overseas value + VAT that was already paid that side.

So if you buy something in Germany that costs 100 EUR you pay 119 EUR that side, and then another 19.635 EUR this side for a total cost of 138.635 EUR excluding AGS disbursement and clearance fee.
