Any risks i should be concerned about?Whats the delivery fee to New York Hub?

Pawn America offer a money back guarantee, but postage back from here would be awfully expensive. At least they guarantee their merchandise, whereas a lot of people don't. Delivery fee to NY depends on what your are buying. If looking at something on eBay, they usually state the price. Go to the page where they are advertising the item, scroll down and click on the "shipping and payments" tab.
Choose United States Zip 11413 and click on "get rates". You should then see the shipping price to New York.

Note - from then on eBay will list every item you see as postage to NY, and will continue to do so - until you find something that ships to South Africa and click on the "shipping and payments" tab and then "get rates" for South Africa.

Sorry if this has been asked before but does Aramex enforce the 3 imports a year limit on your ID number? Ordered a few things from Amazon UK this year and UPS is pretty strict with this law. They asked for an importers code on my 4th order from Amazon UK. Just told them to return the package and got a refund.

You're only allowed to order 3 times? I thought it was value based.

Do like I do. Order until they insist on you getting an import licence. No one has insisted I get one yet - although I am in the process of getting one anyway.
I have been using AGS for years, not a bleat from JHB yet.

Duty rates in South Africa vary from 0% to 45%, with an average duty rate of 18.74%. Some goods are not subject to duty (e.g. laptops, electric guitars and other electronic products). VAT applies to most imports at 14% of the sum of FOB value, any duty and excise payable, and a 10% upliftment of the FOB value.

I always work electronics on the original cost plus 15% import duty plus 14% VAT.

Okay, so no problem so far ordering a brand new bluetooth speaker from eBay.

Johannesburg, South Africa 04/15/2017 11:09 AM Held in Customs - Awaiting Customer Instructions

Uh, say what? My email to Aramex:

Can you tell me what customer instructions you would like? (Besides; "please get customs to release ASAP").

You've sent the invoice and paid already?

China Post is slow. It takes weeks, even when they state airmail. Rather have it sent to Hong Kong (or Singapore if they say no to HK). The Chinese get discounts when they export out of China, so they may say they won't send to Hong Kong.

Ordered my first eBay package via NY through AGS and received last week.

Ordered my second package today. Keeping the orders under R400 seems to be hassle free, pleased with their service so far :)

Have anyone received a mail like this from Aramex before? (Using AGS as per usual)

Also, the link from 'Provide Details' doesn't work, gets 404 error.

Looks like a scam, or someone fishing for your account number. Phone 0114573289/0114573197 on Friday and ask if it is a genuine email. It probably isn't.
You can also give them your details over the phone. Much safer.
Phone numbers given are AGS JHB direct numbers.

I will let you know how Aramex Global Shopper treat it. :whistling:

Just to let you know that my brand new UE Ultimate Ears Roll 2 Bluetooth speaker was delivered by a nice Aramex man in a red van today. No problems whatsoever getting it through. :)
Also, I ordered the UE Roll from eBay and they delivered an UE Roll 2, which isn't even available in this country, so I'm double happy. :D

Very strange indeed.

Usually Aramex/AGS will phone you if they require your ID for custom clearance or you can email it to them.
All the other info, they usually get from your package.
They did change their website recently so it might be some new thing, but rather be careful and make sure.
The email name looks suspicious.
What does it say in your AGS account, the status of this package or is there nothing there?
It should show received at some foreign AGS/Ship and Shop address and have some status.
Since the link also doesn't work, it must be some sort of scam.
Please let us know if Aramex tells you anything about it and if it is a scam to warn others.

I don't think it is a scam. The headers are showing mailer2.aramex.com and the dns lookup goes back to the same ip addresses that is shown in the mail header traces. Also the subject I blanked out the tracking code, it is the actual tracking code of an item that shows up on the aramexglobalshopper.com website.

I just find it strange that I got this mail from Aramex directly, but I also I received a mail from AGS. Either way, since that link didn't work, I have just uploaded the invoices the usual way I have always done through the AGS website. If that is not enough they can let me know.

The package is already left the UK depot, so I am not too concerned, also it was like R350 so dont think customs will be an issue.

I buy from eBay and don't get an invoice with my purchases, so I just make my own and so far everything has gone through without questions. What I want to know is whether I should be putting my local RSA address on it or the Aramex address to where it was shipped to in the UK / US? The items have all been under R500 and so far I haven't needed to pay customs.
