Aramex global shopper

Anyone had this problem.

Received a mail to my Gmail account stating I've got a 15% shipping discount code. When I open the mail there is no code and no steps to follow. Only a banner that links me to the Aramex site. I can however read in the email description - in the feed - that it lists steps to follow but I open the mail there are none. Anyone had these mails?

Yeah, received the same. Do a 'forward email' and then you will be able to review it in the email you composing.

How does PBC handle this? Do they put all the small packages through customs individually (which would seem like the right thing to do)?

No, your total shipment has a value, that total gets put through customs...pfft are you trying to avoid import vat/duties - in that case every importer would bring in containers and then clear each item individually, doesn't go like that.
 
Oh yeah. Paid $49 for shipping (PayPal). Then had to pay R533 import duty. Now waiting impatiently for the parcel. I have just had an order sent DHL from China in 2 days, so I'm spolt, and expected PPC to do the same.

With Aramex, if the single shipment is below R400, then there is no duty.
As I understand it, with Postbox Courier, if your combined shipment is below R500, there is no duty.
As my first shipment is close to 2 grand this doesn't apply.
Pity.
 
So, I get the usual Aramex email from [email protected] - Shipment Update: Upload Invoice.

This email is normal, and I am used to it.

At the same time I get this email:

Infromration??? I tell you, I zapped off an email to Olivia so fast. I have been with AGS for 2 years. They have all my details, so WTF is this?

I bought the device on sale and got a $30 discount, and the rand was around R12.30 or so. Landed cost was roughly R7300 for the 128GB model.

If you are looking to buy now, I would wait for the OnePlus 5 or get the 3T at a cheaper price once it launches

It actually was emailed from overseas... Olivia's reply:
... "The mail from Shop and Ship isn’t a scam, however it should not have been sent to you. Shop and Ship is an Aramex Company, however in South Africa it is known as Aramex Global Shopper. If you receive any mails like this, rather ignore them, and send me a mail and I will assist where I can."

Thanks for the reply. I just wanted to get a feel for the real cost vs the locally advertised pricing that one sees intermittently.
 
My frustration with AGS is their invoicing, or lack thereof.

I need to claim the vat on my imports. The vat invoice they send me is in the name of AGS. How do they expect me to pay an invoice that is in the name of AGS. Let alone claim the vat. They refuse to put the invoice in my business name or even just add my company name. See image attached

their reason:

"AGS is a service that is offered to individuals and not companies, hence there won’t be any company name appearing under AGS invoice. I am advised that your mail box number is under your name and not the company name, hence that is why it is appearing as AGS. "

yeah, even though my last parcel with aramex took 10 days the delays were the receiving depot - once it arrived here they did do the clearing and had it ready for pickup at aramex jhb as requested in record time.

Woah, grudging praise! Lol!

Whereas Postbox Courier are already insisting that my one parcel (tracked all the way to their door), has not been delivered. Even Goosberry, the eBay supplier, says it has been delivered.
I have never, ever, lost a parcel using AGS.

BTW, it was delivered on 22 May. I know PBC are slow in updating the webpage (a pain), but they are insisting there was no delivery.
