was that price incl shipping to SA? if not how much did the shipping & duties cost?
Shipping on one bought through eBay was R294. The other (via Google) was R195. Both went through AGS NY.
As below R500 there shouldn't be duty, although Mini #1 is in customs right now.

Not even worth bothering with the requests in my opinion. Phone 011 457 3000, pick option 3. If you find the person handling your call to be pleasant enough, get their email address and just email that person directly in future. I've been dealing with a guy named Richard lately and he's been very helpful and patient. A few other names have also been mentioned in this thread. He told me to, in future, always email him my shipment number, invoice and ID directly when my package hits the dreaded "Held in Customs - Awaiting Customer Feedback" status.

He mentioned that the uploading of the invoice on the website is more for the purposes of getting your package shipped from one of your global addresses (for example, the USA address). Once it hits customs this side it's apparently best to just email one of the call centre agents directly with your invoice and ID as our customs does not interface with the AGS system at all.

Would you kindly share Richard's email address by post of PM? I have two parcels now stuck in Customs. 8 days for the one and two for the other one.

Sent you a PM. I haven't asked him permission to share it publicly and don't want to presume.

Yeah, but at $119 a year I can't justify it.

Any ideas how customs might react if I brought in 6 or 7 chromecasts via AGS? Think they'll hold it longer because it looks like it's for commercial purposes?

I bring in 150 USB cables at a time through DHL. Nobody has asked for an importers code, even though I have one. Why would Aramex be any different?

What kind of customs do you pay on 150 USB drives? From China?

Edit : saw only cables and not flash drives.

Luckily not but what a pain in the butt. Those timelines also seem a bit harsh. I can easily be away from my email for 48 hours. Anything remarkable about the items detained?

Nope.

I would be highly annoyed seeing as they don't even bother to respond to queries within 48 hours but expect you to submit all the documentation before that.

Cables were R3142.34
Duty was R924.88 (Duty and VAT) + R150 Disbursement Fee = R1074.88

2 x S6 flip covers and 1 x Chromecast.

Interesting. I was expected to give all those documents but I never received an email like that. I got agitated at waiting and phoned them. Of course, nobody answered the phone but Olivia helped me. I was just told to send through an invoice then later I asked again and they said proof of payment is missing so I sent that through. 48 hours passed before they even submitted any documents to customs.
