Aramex global shopper

My package finally cleared customs. Got hit with a R290 customs charge on a R1500 package. Is that expected for electronics?

Anyone else having problems with global shopper website? I am unable to upload any invoice or track package - always gives error. "shipment not found"

What threw me was the red border around the voucher number field after your enter your voucher number. Remember to press the apply button after entering your voucher number and it should change the border from red to green.

I got that email for may latest package. I submitted all the requested documents and 10 working days later, it still hasn't been cleared. I was initially told the turnaround time is 6 working days. Prepare yourself for a long wait.

Anyone ever ordered an Echo via AGS? I see the new Echo wieghs about 850g. So shipping will be R300 I guess, Just not sure on customs and vat - product comes to 87$ (probably 100$ including SA plug adapter)

The Echo itself weighs that, but it doesn't include the weight of the packaging, adapters etc etc etc..

The Home weights about half a kilo (give or take) but the packaging and shipping stuff adds up to a shipped weight of around 1.5kgs.

Echo Mini from Google was 1lb or 0.454 kg. Worked out to R195 shipping.
Same thing from ebay was 1.25 lb or 0.567 kg. It all depends on the packaging.
This is the mini, not the bigger home. Still, worth thinking about.

Oh, on a related topic... because Google and Amazon are arguing, YouTube is not available on Amazon devices as from 1st Jan 2018.

This is the bigger echo version and mainly getting it for music. Want to get a dot for kitchen and will use the big one in entertainment/tv area. I am still not sure which one to go for as both have advantages. What I do not like about Google home is that you can't connect any bluetooth speaker without chromecast audio - the dot can do this no problem. Both have multi room.

Googles Multi Room support is better than Amazons btw.

Was told by Olivia when I phoned a month back that the FNB R75 off will end on 15th of November (already past) and it only works with the original card registered (cc expired).
