Aramex global shopper

Finally got my goodies, now I can start building the drone.

Nah, ate up my brothers coffee table, defended myself with a cushion and snapped blades already.

Should probably not test indoors, should probably not test with blades on.
 
My latest parcel arrived but the contents were damaged. Looks like it was opened for inspection and not properly repacked and also handled quite roughly. I have the insurance option enabled, so I'm going to try and claim from Aramex.

I have never done the insurance thing yet through Aramex, but they must have had experience in it, so hopefully things run smoothly.
I know I don't have to tell you to take photos of both package and damaged items and send it to them.
 
I think it's going to be a pain from what I've read in this thread so far. I might have to post on HelloPeter again.

I had a look at the T&Cs and they cover themselves pretty well, like any insurance policy. e.g. If the airliner damages the parcel they are not responsible and you have to claim from the airliner, etc. This however looks like it's their fault for not repacking it properly. I took photos and sent it to customer support. Will have to wait and see what they say.
 
Whats you guys opinion of me getting a laptop from amazon through aramex? is it safe? if you look at the cost in SA vs importing, its way cheaper and I can get quiet a good machine for half the price
 
If you have factored in the duty as well as the 15% luxury tax customs this side will add and then 14% tax..?
If using Amazon, order it using your SA address. They should give you some sort of idea as to the duty. If you think it is worth it, then change to the USA address and let Aramex handle it.

thanks, its between ebay and amazon... amazon being cheaper so quiet worth it... also, would you know the promo codes posted in here a while back still work?

no luxury tax on laptops just vat.
if you importing a laptop rather use postbox-courier, more reliable
 
Just to be fair, it might not be Aramex fault. The seller could have packaged the item better and there is no way for me to prove who actually broke it, unless Aramex can provide photos of how it looked when it arrived and when they inspected it.

I'm presuming they were normal AA batteries? There's no issue shipping those, Li-Po batteries won't be shipped ie: cellphone and laptop batteries. They can't be put on passenger aircraft anymore and have to go on dedicated cargo planes.
