Aramex global shopper

Roundabout way is to link your card to PayPal and pay that way. I had to do this when using my ABSA card as the Aramex webpage totally refused to allow me to use it.
FNB? No problem. ABSA? Get stuffed.

Nope, I've tried the usual credit card payment (FNB card), VISA Checkout, and Paypal. No payment methods are working.

I ordered a parcel which was shipped from California. Been 21 days and counting. I'm busy waiting for ARAMEX to clear my parcel from customs. Been there for 10 days. Followed up with them 3 times. No feedback from them.

In contrast, I ordered another parcel, shipped from California using DHL, arrived here in 4 days. Arrived in customs on Sunday night, was cleared and sent out for delivery first thing Monday morning.

Strangely, I just had one of my fastest turn-around times from Aramex. Ordered from Amazon and it pitched up on our doorstep 8 days later (this is including the weekend and public holidays). It might have been even faster but I delayed payment of the shipping and upload of the invoice for two days because I wasn't expecting it to arrive in SA so soon.

As livid666 said it's aramex's incompetence that delays customs. Got a parcel stuck in customs for atleast a week with no movement.

I am on Flex and am receiving TV boards ordered for my customers in 4 - 5 days. In fact Aramex scream for me to upload invoice as they want to shift from SHA to JHB within hours, so the delay is me.

I tried to ship something that's on the "unshippable" list. Whoops. Now it's sitting in New York. Wonder if they can (at a price) forward it along for me to someone that will ship it.

You tried to ship batteries? Then shizzoutaluck.
If not batteries, check if postbox-courier.com can help.
If yes, look up a NY courier that accepts card payments (like our Courier Guy /Xpress Online Couriers), pay and and get them to fetch it from Springfield Gardens and take to postbox-courier.
Of course, you had better have a PBC account first and let them know what is happening...

Ordered two parcels one through ags one direct from amazon. Both seem stuck at customs for more a week. Both are Aramex. First time but seems its the norm reading the last few posts.

Ags. Just says under processing at operations facility. May 2.

Same thing happened to me ... Guess I need to find alternative ways of getting my fix

Hi all, I've used AGS before with Ebay purchases and have not been charged tax, but have just used it with Amazon now and note that they have included tax on my purchase. Is this right?

If you ordered from Amazon through Aramex Global Shopper New York you are liable for the NY tax.
Amazon direct to your door will charge duty only (no tax), which will finally be credited to you if there is no South African duty on whatever you have purchased.

Yes, I've purchased from Amazon direct to the door before and haven't been charged tax and that's why I was puzzled when I saw the tax charged on my recent purchase.

I've searched and I found a post on Amazon's FAQ about claiming back taxes on exports from US...does anyone know if it applies in my case and has anyone tried doing it yet?

Yes, both Amazon USA and Amazon UK tax-claim-back email addresses are mentioned in this thread. Do a search for Amazon. You should find the info.

My parcel hit the Us depot on Friday and today I received it. All in all it took 1 week from ordering on ebay to receiving it here in South Africa.

Fastest ever service I've had with Aramex.
