Article: DA apologises for fake ANC pamphlets

The DA apologised for printing election pamphlets misrepresenting the ANC during recent by-elections in Tlokwe, in the North West, The Star reported on Thursday.

The party admitted in Parliament on Wednesday that it distributed false ANC posters carrying disparaging messages that denounced ANC mayoral candidate Maphetle Maphetle.

Piss poor form, DA. You can't hold the moral high ground while wading in ****. Disappointed.

The ANC altered us

so the DA altered the ANC and they reciprocated?

on a serious note the DA seem to be developing a habit of shooting themselves in the foot lately

The only thing the DA had over the ANC was their moral standpoint. Now they just jump on the bandwagon and point fingers at everything the ANC screws up. I'm pretty sure that they would be pro- eTolls if the public hadn't shown such resistance.

They are just lowering themselves the the ANC's level of under handedness. I'm not even sure where my loyalty lies any more. Idiots.

Everything about this party is fake.

Wait, if the posters weren't approved why where they distributed without approval?

"The pamphlet never got final approval and was printed due to oversight. The only wrong thing was the ANC logo. The ANC altered us and we apologised," Hattingh was quoted as saying.
So it was meant to have a DA logo?

Also don't understand the last part... "altered us"???

Everything about this party is fake.

difference is that the DA will hold these people accountable while the ANC wouldn't. that is a bit more worth voting for

Yea, i don't think the ANC have even done this. New low for the country i guess.

The ANC have done the same thing.

Remember in Mpumlanga when the ANC there distributed pamplets supposedly from the DA stating how the DA will only help whites and the DA want to bring back Apartheid.

he DA issued a statement last month alleging that Ntombikayise Jeanette Mahlangu, the ANC candidate in the by-elections for Mpumalanga’s Ward 4 in the Steve Tshwete Municipality, distributed a pamphlet made to look like it came from the DA.

Written in English and Afrikaans it read: “Help the DA to claim what has been stolen from you. Helen Zille is asking for a few minutes of your time to contribute to change. Now that the ANC has split, we have a real opportunity to get into government in provinces all over South Africa. We can’t do it without your help.

“It’s a call to every white in South Africa and abroad. If you have a club/society, church or a community organisation, bring them along, we have funds available to finance you so that we together can make it happen.

“So far we’ve managed to get Cope and Independent Democrats on our side for our usage. What are you waiting for, try by all means to convince your domestic worker to vote for DA. We need everyone on board to stop Jacob Zuma’s ANC from getting a two-thirds majority in 2009.”

DA spokesperson Anthony Benadie said: “In the pamphlet, the DA is portrayed as a racist party, claiming that the DA wants to bring back the days of ‘permits’, in order to fight the ‘Swart Gevaar’.

“The pamphlet ends with the words ‘Warning: Do not show this pamphlet to your maids and garden boys ... we need their votes,” he said in a statement on February 23. He said the statement had been distributed the previous Friday.

During the ANC’s probe, Mahlangu and members of the party’s local election team were interviewed. All denied involvement in either production or distribution of the pamphlet.

How quickly the ANC mor supporters forget what their party has done in the past. Looking at you Redeemed.
