Article: Darren Scott facing racism probe

I wonder if his resignation is a matter of pride or an admission of guilt?

For crying out loud, tell us what he said, media!
 
I think we are getting a bit too prissy with this racial slurring stuff.

It seems you can call someone a d**s, 4rsehole, p1g, scumbag - but the moment you throw colour into it there's an uproar.

Heaven help the next dutchman that calls me a soutie ! ;)

:D Totally agree...that's why I'd like to know what exactly he said.

Either way it's as good as an admission.

I dunno though, how hard can it be not to make race an issue when insulting someone? I mean aside from anything else, how dumb do you actually have to be to make a racist remark to someone you don't get a long with in this day and age? It's like drawing a target on your back and handing someone a loaded gun.

Darren Scott is a dumbass. I have no sympathy.

All very well, but there was a time in this countries history when that sort of talk could have gotten you ****ed up if not murdered. Genuine animosity between Afrikaaners and english speaking whites was a real thing once.

I thought Scott was on the wagon.

Drunkenness as an excuse only goes so far. I'm not saying it's fair or right, but how many drunk okes have had arguments without resorting to racial slurs? *Raises hand.
 
They are probably doing this to cause controversy and improve ratings. Darren Scott is boring and Jacaranda sucks anyway.

if you listened to Barney everybody was pissed. ( not making excuses) this was before the story broke. ( he was not defending anybody) but like you said it's not an excuse.

I'm not defending a racist , there might be more to the story. Like I said to Fudzy , who believes our Media regarding reports like this? I'll wait a few days before we hang the guy from a clock tower.

There's nothing more to come of it besides perhaps a denial from him. He's resigned so I assume there's not going to be an inquiry. Incidentally I think he's a dumbass regardless. There's no need to believe the media. They just reported that he was accused and that he resigned. Unless they made the whole thing up, which I could almost believe.

What I'm saying about pride is that maybe it was such a petty non-event that he'd rather chuck in the towel than be forced into some sort of apology. I suppose if this is the case then he'd want people to actually know what happened.

He was on 702 this morning - he said that he had apologised. He said he had used the K-word. But it seems that there is a bit of a story there.
 
Wonder why he resigned? In this country you usually only get anal probed and then a slap on a wrist. The only time action gets taken is if you have done something to offend the powers that be in certain way. Wonder if supersport will also fire him considering what they did to joost when his lifestyle became apparent.
 
The manager of Jackaranda was interviewed this morning on Jackaranda, still no idea what he said though. (Knew 702 would be the station to listen to but my wife hates it).
 
Well 94.7 Breakfast show sucks... and now Jacaranda will not be the same without Darren... People are really too sensitive, but I guess there is alot of bad history still around...
 
Supersport are very touchy with regards to race. If I remember correctly, Pat Symcox was removed from Supersport for criticising the quota system
