Article: New smoking rules not well received

Luckilly we do not have to deal with your smoking for much longer.

I'm a considerate smoker, but nothing gives me more joy than to blow some smoke in the faces of knobs like you. Why? Because you're a knob. And you believe in unicorns.

You are so addicted to a substance that it causes you so much anger and you try to take the high ground? :erm:

Dont worry. Jesus still loves you.

It's common for smokers to somehow justify their addictions. It makes no sense (financially, health and less and less socially acceptable) to continue smoking but the hopeless addiction drives them to find other reasons to justify why they can't beat the addiction.

Lol you read anger in all this? I'm actually laughing at the hypocrisy displayed by some of you guys. I'm not the one having wet dreams that smoking may some day be banned completely btw ;)

There's no justification, I enjoy it. I have the finances, have come to terms with the idea that death can come at any time, and wouldn't want to be socially associated with judgemental self-righteous pricks anyway (both smokers and non-smokers) :)

The problem is while smoking is unhealthy, you want to make decisions for another person, another adult.

If he wants to smoke, tought ****, he wants to smoke. That is his choice. If his smoking bothers you, don't smoke. Some people don't like kids in restraunts or shopping centers, tough ****. Some people don't like watching same sex couples kiss, tough ****. Everyone grow a pair

Why would anyone care about the opinion of someone whose mind is functioning so poorly that they are happy to inflict that harm on themselves for no benefit?

I am all for smoking, please do it as much as possible. We need fewer drains on society.

i get annoyed at the moral high ground where people defend democracy, defend people's rights to their bodies, but get this panties in a twist at smokers and at parents making decisiosn for their kids.

"I know how to live your life better than you do, you must now do what i say." :p

Where did I say do what I say? I said smokers should smoke as much as they like.

1.) calling smokers stupid.
2.) encouraging them to die quicker

must be hard being perfect. hows the gym going?

Some of the smartest people I know are smokers. It could be because they don't spend all their time thinking about how they can control and judge the lives of others. Just saying.

you seem to get these people that obsess over other people's lives, how much they smoke, what they do with their money, what they believe, who they marry, what phone they should buy... :p

1.) calling smokers stupid.

You don't want people to judge you based on your stupid decisions. Tough ****.

2.) encouraging them to die quicker

I have this tiny little violin playing for the lives of smokers.

must be hard being perfect. hows the gym going?

Perfect? No, but I try to avoid repeated stupidity. Mistakes happen, learn from them and move on. Doing something stupid habitually? You may be stupid.

You should meet smarter people.

I have no desire to control your life. You want to kill yourself, go right ahead.

Two caveats though:
- I will not tolerate people who endanger others
- I will consider you an idiot, just like anyone else who habitually does stupid ****.

I don't smoke and I'm not fazed by 2nd hand smoke. My friends always ask me I can manage it. Truth is there are far more important things in this world to care about than that.

That would be the addiction talking and way you justify it too :p

I've seen both my parents and my wifes parents get taken by cancer from smoking. My father on the either hand had some of his lung cut out, and chemo for the throat cancer. He gets sick from the chemo, and has hard time breathing. He's pretty thankful that there are "smoke free" zones, because he doesnt need the smoke to contribute to the cancer he's fighting and he's finding it hard to breath "clean" air as it is (let alone feeling ill from chemo).

My wifes father wasnt so lucky and the cancer had spread too far. I'm pretty sure my wife [and her family] wished he never smoked - it's been tough emotionally [to witness cancer eat away someone] and financially (the costs are extreme... let alone the debt left behind)

So yeah... keep enjoying them.
