What advise do you have to others who are keen on starting their own business' but don't have the courage to take the necessary risks in getting their? For people who do regular 9-5 jobs its hard to take that leap. Thanks for the great service Gian!
 
How long before the AfriHost brand is totally integrated into MTN and MTN puts AfriHost Management as responsible for the ISP offering and related services ?
 
Are you looking into signing any deals with any streaming services like Netflix?
 
With the rise of streaming services are you looking into having streaming services Zero Rated?
 
With the MTN Afrihost amalgamation, what steps is the organisation taking to improve reception in remote areas? e.g. In Sutherland, a place i often frequent has n early zero mtn reception while Vodacom is tops.
my journeys cover most of great and small karoo and MTN just does not feature.
 
Afrihost service v Telkom service

How will Afrihost compare to Telkom's service in respect of rooter LTE services?

Telkom allows their mobile customers to use their ADSL data allocation for mobile use. Any plans to implement this?
"If you have a Telkom Internet 3G/LTE SIM card, you can use your xDSL/FTTH data for both mobility and failover"

R60 - R100 per GB of mobile data is a rip-off compared to ADSL data which are MUCH lower.

I have an on going interest in disruptive technology. Things that come to mind are: the music industry, Uber and the social networking revolution.

A lot of questions so far on what internet connection you use at home, the speed etc, same for your cellphone, mine is a bit different though.
Lets presume you have Afrihost internet at home and Afrihost mobile for your cellphone, but do you also have backups in place, more spesifically products by the opposition? Also which opposition did you choose for these secondary accounts and why them?
P.S. I know some companies even have policies where the CEO and other executives are not allowed to use their own products, e.g. BMW CEO is not allowed to drive a BMW.
 
Why doesn't Afrihost have duplex everything as promised when you changed to MTN? That way any one failure in the network should not cause problems for customers.
 
When most people first heard about Afrihost it was during the time you were selling ADSL accounts at a price which, if all data was used on the account, could lead to Afrihost running at an almost loss. I think the reasoning behind this is that if you had enough subscribers to sign up to the product that you would probably make a profit assuming that not all people use all the bandwidth allocated to them. The first time this happened, really seemed to me, the outside world, is where Afrihost really started becoming a successful business. In later years, you have done similar tactics of selling large amounts of products at low profit margins, hoping people will stay on these products. This is something I must applaud your company for.

My question is, can you please elaborate on what really happened back at the Afrihost offices during the first time you started selling ADSL accounts at a price that undercut all other competitors and you have thousands of signups within hours. Who came up with this idea, how was it formulated and what was the real risks to the company whilst you were offering these products? This is a question I have been dying to ask as the whole concept fascinates me.

I meant this as one question, which has a detailed answer :)

Why can't data just be data regardless of whether you are using it over the cell phone network or ADSL line?
