Yes one can do that. Was the first thing I did. Same problem.

Is that on the paid version?

Yip. So I guess I'm a bit OT then The free version works fine in any case, but I need a proper firewall. ZoneAlarm here I come...

Biggest problem with AVG free - too many false positives. Get a decent anti-virus app. Get NOD32

Biggest problem with AVG8 free - e-mail scanner only works for 30 days.

I upgraded some of the office pcs yesterday. The interface certainly looks very modern. Also the AV has been combined with the AS.

I guess AVG wants you to use the paid version....

I'm using 8.0 Free Edition and it works well, but getting annoyed with the notification bar that pops up every time you open it.

Then I bought and installed the file server version on our network....and it works flawlessly. Think I'm gonna buy a key for my Vista laptop.

Yup, that sucks. Even if you just switch off the updates.

Yes you can, in both, but with AVG 8.0, it gives you a nasty "red block" at the bottom.

Similar with AVG 7.5 when you needed an update, only then it turned grey. (on the updates - that was actually important!)
