Axxess changing to IS

Well my router lost connection (PPP light is off instead of glowing) and I don't have an external IP address on my routers web config page :( I've emailed Axxess support to check with them before getting ready to hold for Telkom for the next 3 hours
 
just received the sms now, "Dear Axxess client Only if you have problems accessing the internet change your DNS settings to 168.210.2.2/196.14.239.2. We apologize for the inconvenience"

I got no problems with my internet, I'm just not getting the service I initially signed up for.... and please, fix your support line!

If you have no joy with Axxess and you wish to move drop me a mail at [email protected] or PM me and I will set you up with a SAIX account, Webafrica offers Complete packages and good Data packages. Webafrica also informs their clients if their is going to be any changes to accounts or packages, we would put up posts on Mybroadband and the Webafrica forum with regards to changing backbone and so on.

Saix and IS is like comparing woolworths(Saix) to Checkers (IS).
 
Yet another Axxess sms: "Only if you have problems sending mail change your smtp to smtp.axxess.co.za."

Is it all falling apart?
 
It smacks of arrogance and that if you don't like it they couldn't be bothered. So this will be the last time I buy an account from them for a while.

Guys Axxess has had the IS Fibre for more that 6 months now which they launched with semi account......! Why would they have moved if it was'nt they same speeds and its unshaped after hours!!! :)

Webafrica offers two Uncapped packages, both are with IS.

Uncapped Express
About the Internet Solutions ADSL Uncapped Express Service
The ADSL Express service has been designed mainly for the conservative business user who requires the assurance of an uninterrupted/uncapped and fixed-cost ADSL service.
The ADSL Express service is a managed service, whereby your usage is monitored and recorded. The service is allocated a certain threshold for the month which is divided into a 10 day rolling window. If you reach your 10 day threshold before the 10th day, your available bandwidth will be halved (e.g. 512 kbps will be reduced to 256 kbps). However, if your consumption is reduced, your bandwidth will be restored to the purchased level.

Uncapped
This is a totally Uncapped package, it is a 1 year contract with IS and they supply you with a router. You have two options 512mbps or 1024mbps, you also get 5 static IP addresses with the package.

yes but this isn't the service I signed up for when i created an account with Axxess. I signed up for a 3gb SAIX adsl account with the intention of utilizing faster SAIX bandwidth over congested IS bandwidth. As the Axxess Basic adsl accounts have previously always made use of SAIX bandwidth, they've created a valid expectation that the accounts will be on the SAIX backbone.

If your website explained the product more clearly I would have signed up (I use WA for prepaid had have been very happy with the service). I signed up with Axxess uncapped 'cause it clearly states that between 8pm and 8am you revert to your actual line speed (4Mb in my case), even though it is a 384kb package. That is a crucial piece of information.
 
Well as a Axxess prepaid user! I am highly disgusted by this, not to mention been bombarded with 5 sms's this morning. I am glad that Telkom is still my main ISP at least it is still SAIX.

However with my prepaid it would seem I need to find an alternative!
 
Well thats me gone from Axxess as well if they have changed to IS, was browsing last night and did notice it was slower than normal, never looked at my IP address though.

Thinking of it now, I was on my Axxess account, loaded some NZB's into alt.binz set to IS, and it was downloading straight away, lovely, now I'm gonna burn my expensive intl b/w on local news!
 
IS vs SAIX

Well I can say that I have had no problems with my account so far... Last night my line didnt drop, and according to the GB's that I downloaded, everything was (and is..) fine :confused:

I got the 384 Axxess uncapped express +

I can say that this is definitely IS anyway, as I needed to change my smtp details when I went live with this account a couple of days ago. SMTP sever is DAMN SLOW though :mad: Coming from a SAIX SMTP server the speed difference was kinda ridiculous to be honest... :eek:
