Axxess changing to IS

rofl... thinking back to webafrica's initial launch of their unshaped multi realm with notices all over the show, explination threads on mybb...

I've had no reply to the email I sent to them this morning, either. I guess they're pretty busy, but one public reply here would at least give them breathing space on many of the queries they've got sitting in their inbox!

:D I'm so glad to be back on SAIX, you guys have no idea :):D:)

I must say its extremely bad to not notify on the change of realm, there should have been at least a weeks notice. Only justification on a swap is failure of the service. To think all smtp and dns setting changes for business especially.

ok for clarity sake, we need to actually ask them to put your account back onto the SAIX backbone if you want that....and what about all the e-mail smtp's etc? do I need to change all of those as well??? i run a small business on the side and I have the e-mails working 100% now I have to waste my time sorting that crap out!!! this is pathetic!! WA here i come!

Ja, I have 2 separate sites which needed to be reconfigured yesterday and again today. Not to mention the Axxess clients in Jeffreys Bay who are not technically minded and loathe to fiddle with things like DNS and mail server settings - they now incur callouts for 2 consecutive days. (and all but one are complaining that IS is slow!)

i had support problems with access from day one, that is one of the reasons why i never stuck with them.

OK, to summarize for the lazy :D :

1. Log into your user account on the Axxess web site
2. Go to support and open a ticket
3. In the subject line put: CHANGE BACK TO SAIX
4. In the body tell them you want to be on the SAIX backbone and specify which accounts must be on SAIX should you have more than one
5. Send ticket

Why can't it be as simple as Dear Axxess, please change ALL @axxess.co.za accounts back to SAIX immediately, or you will lose me and others if we don't get what we paid for and expected.

:D that requires joined-up thinking which Axxess have proven they cannot do!

I mailed em yesterday about this. This is the response i got...

Morning Roddy...

the uncapped package has been with IS from the start
the top down load last month was around 700Gigs so I would say that was quite a good account

we have been testing the IS accounts for the last 10 months and have had very good results... hence the change
we are still with SAIX as well so the choice is yours

Paul

Subject: considering the R999 express package

Hi,

I was about to sign up for the R999 package, but have just read the following forum entry http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=160965

Before I jump to any conclusions, please let me know if you have actually moved to IS or SAIX. I am currently on both IS and SAIX and my IS connection is slower at the best of times, hence my question.

Kind regards

Roddy Pettenburger

Just signed up for a basic axxess account yesterday and thought that I too would also be able to switch to saix no problem.
Was I surprised when I receivied this reply

The account you signed up for is a Semi-Shaped account. The semi shaped accounts are only IS accounts and cannot be changed over to SAIX. Only people who were on the basic shaped accounts can that were changed to the semi shaped accounts can revert back to the shaped SAIX accounts.

I just cancelled my IS account from openweb to change to saix, now I'm stuck with it again this month

All I know if they do not offer Basic SAIX account from next month they will surely loose me as a customer.

I use axxess prepaid international when I'm capped on Telkom, for the past several days my connection has been quite kuk, I guess this is why.

I'm planning to give it a chance for a few more days and see how it goes, I was planning to try out the semi-shaped thing anyway, I'm not overly impressed with IS if this is what it's like.
