I was on live chat with Apple US/Canada right now.

To cut a looong story short, I am returning to Dell as that is where I had most excellent service. My iPhone and MBP cannot do what I was told by both sales and technical staff.

My 3-week old iPhone 5 gets rejected as an "unsupported device" when trying to connect via Bluetooth with the very new MBP. All software being up to date. Also, the wireless networking has never worked. Furthermore, the compass shows Hout Bay to be north of Cape Town CBD.

The iPhone already is a warranty replacement after the new one from April 2013 failed and it had taken Apple six weeks to sort it out.

I so wish you could have seen the excellent service from Dell, even sent me a Dell Windows 8 DVD at no charge, despite the software issues was not a fault of theirs, more a Microsoft issue.

I can do better by buying a non-OS laptop from Mustek and load Linux onto it. But Windows 8, Nokia and Dell had served me well so that is where I am heading toward.

But it is Apple. They are made with butterfly spit and unicorn farts so they must be the best.

Who's is the troll…me or Apple? If it worked as promoted by Apple, if it worked even in a mediocre way, then I would not have complained. My ancient Nokia 2670 and my E63, C3, etc., are all just working. 2nd iPhone 5 in a few months and all the hassles? Whose fault is it? Mine?

Or should I be dishonest and say "Apple rocks!!" and deceive others, so they also spend money on stuff that doesn't work?

Apple builds software and hardware to work together but my iPhone, according to my MBP, is an "unsupported device."" How does that make me a troll?

So we all should live in La La Land and imagine that everything we have paid dearly for is perfect when it does not work? So that manufacturers can keep dumping junk on us at exorbitant prices?

If a GWM or Tata breaks, we are not hurt as we have expected it. But if a brand new Maserati or McClaren leaves one by the roadside, will that be an expected outcome? Will you still smile when you have bought the most expensive suit and it tears apart at the seams?

You create a profile and attest to being someone who needs help from forum users, but when asked for more information, you don't continue discussion, but rather zip off to create another thread, one after the other, until this one.

Whew from Mac to Windows user in 24 hours; clearly a troll.

It sounds to me like you expect your iPhone to operate exactly like your. Nokia and everything to migrate from a completely different manufacturer and work perfectly on another.

1. Why bother changing when you expect everything to be the same?

2. Your expectations are insane and you qualify as one of those "cut your losses" customers who nobody will ever make happy.

3. Why not just stick to Nokia if they make you so happy and are so perfect? If it's so great why did you move?

Nokia have some of the most backwards proprietary and incompatible systems out there. I've never got a migration from a Nokia done to any other device Apple or otherwise without a hell of a lot of manual work or rather just starting over.

****

I also think you are a troll. Either that or your expectations are just out of this world and you'll never be happy with anything other than the system you currently have.

If you choose to change....you need to make changes. Simple.

In my own house I have a MacBook, two iPhones and two iPads...all trouble and drama free.

At my office I have approaching 40 Apple devices all trouble free.

In my previous office I supported more than 200...no more drama than any other platform. In fact infinitely less so than the "PC" hardware we used.

You will see... On this section of the forum you will receive warnings from a moderator for trolling such nice guys like [)roi(].
Not touching merits of your post, just a comment from experienced forum member.

Don't make us laugh: if you couldn't cope with Apple OS X, iOS, you certainly won't fair well on Linux, and as far as Windows; let's just say I have my doubts.

Ps. I think Game has some specials on calculators.

This is surely not your alternate persona?

Glad I'm not alone in my feelings towards this spastic troll.

I wonder what his calculator brand of choice is? I'm sure he needs a support contract with that so someone can show him how to make use of it.

I am not so chuffed with Dell. I have this Dell XPS (R 18k worth) with the 2 year on site guarantee. Went to a do a presentation where I had to plug in the speaker output into the amplifier and used the brand-new 3.5mm plug to do so. It crackled and made bad contact noises every time I touched the machine. So on Monday called Dell. The following Tuesday this fellow comes along, plugs his headphone into the socket and tells me there is a physical bad contact in there. So he gets up and goes to leave. I ask him how it will be fixed and he waves his hand and says they will be in touch. This was in January. In October I call them again and am told that this fault has already been rectified and I cannot report the same fault again. But I say, nothing has been done. No the lady says, the report says the matter is concluded and that is that

I've personally had a lot of good experiences with Dell service in the corporate world, but as with any company, they do have their occasional off days, or sadly in your case an off year.

I think the point being made in this thread is that were the OP to be sincere (which we doubt) they would not have been so hasty to jump ship; as we all know Apple's kit is certainly not cheap, so surely any real situation would imply a willingness to overcome the initial learning curve before making judgements.

Lol... Hopefully a model with integrated BT (.....battery terminal) ;)

Very strange.

Normally they arrive with spare parts and I've had many motherboards swopped at my desk for such minor issues.

What's your location?

You failed to understand any single word from my posts, every time pointing to my poor languange. You don't have the same comments to OP. So how you managed to identify sajunky the same person as OP? Do I miss something here, or you contradict yourself... ;)

That was an attempt at a bit of humor (guess you missed it).

On OP matters: there's a shade over 3400 post difference between you and the OP; hence a little strange that you associate with this.

Ps. On the language side: If you remember I wasn't alone in experiencing difficulty with your previous posts, which is not the case here.

I missed it, but you are forgiven.

Re: troll. You say you didn't identify me as a troll, but your moderator did and gave me a formal warning to not troll such nice members like [)roi(]. So you are being wrong or your moderator is, something remains a mystery for me, as moderator decided to not give me details of his reasoning...

A second thought. A troll is a relative term, not clearly defined, depend on number of aspects. If someone is addressing normal healthly society with his problems, he is not a troll. But if someone is addressing extreme fanatic, intolerant, computer bigot society with the same problems, such a person is a troll.
Then action taken by moderator shows whether moderator is pleased from having such aggressive individuals on the forum or whether moderator is pleased from having such a person addressing aggresive individuals. [I repeat the same words to make sure you do understand my point :)].
It is why I wrote in this sense, that if moderator agrees with you about a troll, OP should receive a warning for the post. Now I am sure you missed a point. ;)

Lol... No worries bud. Misunderstandings will always happen, especially on a forum with such a diverse group of people. Always best to take comments with a pinch of sugar, forgive / forget and move on.

Ito trolls; It's always difficult to be 100% sure about the troll label or anything for that matter, but it usually requires someone posing the idea and others agreeing or not.

Re the OP; it's either a case of massive confusion and/or frustration or trolling.

The lack of follow through with questions originating from the OP in multiple threads, the overnight switch from Mac to Windows (strange for someone who protests to owning a MBP and iPhone), couple that with a profile created on 21 Dec, led me to think this could be a bit of trolling.

Ps. On the moderator bit; I honestly wasn't involved. The moderators are of course individuals, each with their own opinions of what's acceptable, and if you take that with a pinch of sugar, you should be able to acknowledge they're trying their best to keep things civil.
