Bad ADSL bandwidth from Axxess -- BE AWARE !

if you are planning to move over a ADSL account from Axxess (they are advertising on this site) BE AWARE. YOU WILL NOT GET THE BANDWIDTH THAT YOU HAVE PAID FOR, AND THEY WILL NOT REFUND YOU

The AXXESS adsl (4096) account is so slow that i cannot open ANY international sites. Even my DynDNS does not want to update.
AXXESS blame that problem om I.S, that they do not have enough bandwidth for this solution.

I have tested this with speedtest.net and have confirmed this.

WHAT A CRAP EXCUSE!.

if you were planing to get a AXXESS account, i can guarantee you that you will not get the bandwidth that you have signed up for.
I bought a 4096 account, and i get 4K at best,
Axxess have now recommended that i downgrade my account. But they were bloody quick to demand their money for the 4096 account, and now that i have a problem they just said that money cannot be refunded.

I rarely get more than 100Kb/s while downloading on 4Mb line and have to buffer all youtube videos. (usually up to 50%) I have Axxesslite, Axxess Unshaped and Axxess local accounts. Axxesslite is not unshaped, get very high latencies and packet loss to WoW servers.

Axxess Unshaped is also being shaped. I downloaded some games through Steam recently. With any Axxess account, max I got was 130Kbps, but when I switched to another ISP, I got 420Kbps.

I also phoned them and they guy blamed IS. Doesn't make sense, since unshaped accounts are through SAIX.
 
its becoming increasingly difficult to find decent ISP's that offer quality service these days - so sad.
 
Main problem is also due to IS, there just isnt enough bandwidth to go around.
 
All of the cheap uncapped (like R200pm for 384kbps) are provided by IS & using Seacom for international bandwidth. This problem that you're having can't be blamed on just Axxess, since all the other ISP's are experiencing the same problems with IS.

Last month I was actually quite impressed with the speed of the 4Mbps uncapped that I got from OpenWeb, but this month the speed has decreased dramatically during office hours. I can barely access international websites any more.
After 5 the speed increases again and at like 7 I can get close to line speed again (400kB/s).

RoosTa, the Axxess Lite (unshaped) for R19/GB can't possibly be through SAIX. SAIX is just too damn expensive. Axxess actually specifies the network as IS for that package.

Sorry you misunderstood . I have 3 accounts with Axxess
1) Axxess Unshaped
2) AxxessLite (R19)
3) Axxess Local

I was getting poor speeds with AxxessLite, so as a test I switched to different accounts. 1 Being Axxess Unshaped for R119 per Gig - this account is SAIX Unshaped. I also have a GConnect Account, which I get full speeds (420Kbps), but yet I dont get any where near that using ANY of the axxess accounts.

Please explain...
 
Yes, I had a horrible experience with them last month. Their 4096 uncapped shapped account is dog slow and definately throttled. I guess it suites them as no one would go for the Uncapped Express or Express+ products if the shapped accounts were any good. Cancel and switch to MWEB if you want a decent uncapped shapped account.
 
I have not had any bad experience with the Axxesslite - quite good latency to the Rappelz US servers, Youtube buffering excellent. Downloading @380++Kb/s
Some news server downloads go at 421 upwards :love:
 
I've got Axxess Express+ account, which is unshaped and uncapped. I get full line speeds at night. I haven't had any problems with speed at all. Been with them for a year now.

I'm a former uncapped express+ user and a big fan of that particular package. Good to see it hasn't degraded in quality since the proliferation of cheaper uncapped packages. At least I know I can always go back to uncapped express+ if the Mweb bubble pops.
 
There was a cable break in sandton today - degraded services as a result.

I'm not on axxess, but had issues accessing dyndns.org today, as well as some overseas sites.

iBurst users also had issues today.
 
Yeah I am highly disappointed, AxxessLite is advertised as Unshaped but it clearly isnt...

I got the account for playing WoW with but I am disappointed every night. From my fav ISP (semi unshaped) to this rubbish. I now have to use a SAIX account to be able to play.

I am going to phone and ask them what I am able to do with unshaped packages (potential customer!) and then I am gonna blast them about poor service delivery.

Im on 384 uncapped and no probs, during business hours its throttled as advertised and after hours full speeds, this account costs 999 per month, obviously the cheaper packages arnt gonna be the same

I have been having no problem with axxesslite until today. was at my usual 250 on WoW Eu servers but today i was up to about 300 now im sitting at 450. So im jsut wondering whats going on?!
 
IS is racking in all this large amounts of money. I mean soooo many people bought their R499 uncapped account. Just a few of these accounts needs to be sold to make big money.

IS is not using the large profits of their accounts to buy/provide additional capacity and now the network is severely congested 24/7.

IS should stop being greedy!
 
I just got an axxess voucher yesterday to test their service, at around 9pm last night I had over 2000ms on WoW...

I then tried WoW on my MWEB Uncapped (shaped) account and got 599ms.

With axxess I'm also getting local latency's of over 500ms locally, which is insane.
 
Where do you recommend for Uncapped 384 Service?

Hmm...I have the uncapped express+ account...download at 400k...while on vent and playing wow. No problems here. I have done 200Gb+ this month alone in spite of Seacom fail. Been with Axxess for 3 years. The only bad experience I had was their 384k shaped / uncapped account. It was so badly throttled www.google.com took 5 mins to open.
