I'll obey the law regardless of what the person behind me does. Not my responsibility to make sure they will stop and I will never drive through a yellow light when it is safe to stop, because of the person behind me.

Going through a yellow light because of an idiot behind you completely goes against the intention of the rules of the road, which is to make it safer for everyone.

It also means the idiot behind you will probably also go over the light, giving anyone who wants to turn (and there not being an arrow phase) even less time. I so agree with you.

I agree with both of you, I tend to infuriate most people as I'm a stickler for obeying every single road law.

Sorry I was confused, thought the car on the left was the landy. Both should have stopped.

Now you got me confused too :p, the Landy (aka white Land Rover Discovery 4) is on the right and turning right, the Prado is the grey Toyota Prado doing straight. Only thing on left is the Mica struck on the grass lol.

Landy should have stopped, but the Landy not stopping did not prevent others from safely turning when it is their chance.

This thread also revealed that many people think they know how to drive but actually know little and just revealed it. You get those that don't know how to use a mini circle, or still think lane splitting for motorcycles is illegal or in this case, how a yellow traffic light is supposed to be handled.

Dude whatever. You seem a bit self righteous. I'm an excellent driver. I would have probably stopped if I was in the Prado, but I often cross on yellow, when travelling at slightly higher speeds and it would have still been save to stop, yet I deem it save to cross without getting in anyone's way.

My biggest thing and the reason I posted yesterday, is that you ignored the fact that the Landy actually ran a red (if I was a traffic cop, the Land Rover would have gotten a ticket from me), while the Prado was in a bit of a grey area. He would have been over far quicker, if the EcoSport gave him a second longer... but as I said yesterday, luckily he held back when he saw the EcoSport's intention to go. If the guy in the Ford waited a second longer, he would have had a much safer turn.

No grey area. Was moving slow and the light had been yellow long enough. I showed you the relevant legislation. And what if there was a second car behind the EcoSport, as there always is in the morning and everyone from the other direction drives like the Prado?

I'll take that intersection from the EcoSports direction, when I feel like the added grief, one morning and show you. I've had enough of that driving.

PS: Puhlease! I am a lot self righteous

Exactly. Champion for the rules of the road, but it's okay if you run a red... Just don't cross on yellow.

Ag OK, I'll post a video of him too then. I'll upload the link when I am back in front of my desktop tomorrow evening....

Or maybe I should just edit the current vids caption to include both?

Did you see the taxi turning right from the Prado/my lane about 3 cars ahead of the Prado? They love skipping the backed up traffic in the right lane and doing that. If I was behind that taxi and had the number plate I'd have posted a vid about that.

EDIT: Oh, and the Prados rear wheels where not across the line (just on it) when it turned red.

Whichever. That is all I wanted... Thanks :)

Like I said, I would have probably stopped if I was in the Prado, but I also think the EcoSport put himself in danger there. I would have waited if I saw the Prado coming.

The landy made the atos brake after pulling away on a green. Both should have stopped. But red doesn't mean what it used to mean lately.

Check out this chop in the white Uno - CF 208-479.

Drives in front of the truck, goes over to the right into the lane to turn right it seems. When the light turns green, he changes his mind.....

Dashcam's broken but a white BM 1-series convertible on Summit road pulled a real d00s move today.
Light turns orange, so I stop (My car comes to a halt just after the light turns red). d00s proceeds to overtake me AFTER I've stopped and blast through the red light. Nearly took out traffic on the cross street which already had a green light by that point.
