Just hear it on Sky News, Bakkies banned for 2 weeks.

No news on Schalk yet.

In my opinion, Brussow is a better player at the moment! :)

Fark. Who are we going to replace Bakkies with? I say Russouw. Bekker and Kankowski on the bench.

What's 8 wks if you don't play every week? Should be 8 test matches.

IMO Burger should have been substituted immediately after the 10min was up. You don't deserve to play for your country if you do that sort of thing especially in the 1st min...what could have led up to it?
He therefore let his team down and should have been subbed by the coach and irrespective of ban should have been told he is not being considered for rest of year.

Yet we get this from the coach:

South Africa coach Peter de Villiers refused to condemn Burger's actions, something McGeechan admitted he was "very disappointed" by.

"I don't believe it was a card at all," said the South Africa coach.

"In the first minute already there had been a lot of needle and if you watch the whole game you will see how many yellow cards they were let off.

"This is sport, this is what it's about. If things were clear cut then we shouldn't even bother preparing for a game. Everyone is entitled to their opinion."

he is a genuine f***wit

Peter de Villiers is a ****ing moron. The only reason he waited 60mins to put Morne Steyn and Brussow on was because everyone wanted him to. Personally I'm glad Burger got banned. Now de Villiers is forced to play Brussow. Burger had a **** game on Saturday anyway.

But Bakkies is a bit of a blow

True, Brussau is the better player at the moment. Pienaar should be benched next weekend and Steyn put in the starting lineup.

Two weeks was harsh but thats the way SA is being treated by the IRB.:D

Exactly, Schalk is a dangerous player and should have been banned for 8 games.

This probably has a lot to do with it....

Unions or teams cannot cite an opposing player, but the Union or other affiliated body responsible for the management of either participating team may refer an incident to the Citing Commissioner for consideration within four hours of the conclusion of the match.

The Brits were whinging so much after the game that they had nothing better to do than decide who to refer. The Boks on the other hand were too busy celebrating for those four hours!

Having been a Province supporter all my life, I can just state the following on Schalk :
There's no substitute for stupidity. I think even Watson has more brains. Not on form, think he had 1 good game this year. Won't miss him at all.

Sheridan will probably want to keep his nuts out the rucks next week.
