Baldur's Gate 3

Meh. Turn-based tic-tac-toe idiocy ended my excitement for this.

Was pretty much guaranteed given it's Larian but sod that noise.

Shame on you.

Loved the old Baldur Gate's; interested to see where this goes.

Ok Boomer
See. Now that's funny. Because the tic-tac-toe paradigm predates RTwP because of processing limitations.

So who's the boomer here, chum?

There is nothing edgy about tic-tac-toe. Never has been. Never will be. Interesting defense of a terrible mechanic, though/

Shame on you.

Love the BG series and still play them.

Love the Pillars series and still play them.

Love Pathfinder: Kingmaker and still play that.

Loved the first Divinity.

Really wanted to love the later entries and tried really hard with >10 hours in each. But breaking gameplay every few minutes so I get to passively observe the machine making crafted moves, individually? Sod that noise. Life's too short to pretend that's "immersive" and "tactical". It's beyond boring.

Pathfinder Kingmaker had so much potential, but the bugs man! I gave up after a game-breaking bug 40 or so odd hours in.

I would have preferred realtime with pause, but Larian pretty much nailed the turn based combat with D:OS 2. I'm really looking forward to what they do with the DnD rules. The last time I enjoyed a DnD game was BG 2, and that was still using 2nd edition with it's THAC0 system. I actually really liked it.

I agree that the combat in Sin was great, however later in the game one fight would just drag on forever. They really need to do something about that.

I actually enjoyed the fact that almost all fights are challenging (first playthrough at least), and at the start of a new area there are many fights that you just should not tackle. Many other games are designed that you can win almost any fight in a new area, and after the first couple the rest are pushovers.

DOS2 was decent, until the final battle where it was scripted how and who you must fight. That was the biggest letdown I have had in recent memory.

Looking forward to this.
Having played all BG games, All never winter night games, Icewind dale ect.
Although i liked DOS2. I preferred Pillars of eternity more. Also Tyranny!
I hope this game does not disappoint.
Have huge expectations on it, well from me in any case.
