Bank report hackers face jail

Who's speaking? I'm listening now...

Hope one of our people phone and explain the crappy protection it had. I'd love to phone in but my afrikaans accent is a bit thick hey.

Phillip Els?? of the commission and some media professor.

in short: they only going after the person who according to them posted methods (on here) to bypass the document. (in terms of the ECT Act)

Question I would still like answered:

The person from the commission mentioned that a main reason to prosecute is because "competitors could access each other's information".

The redacted bit are singles words and sentences inbetween long paragraphs.

Did the commission produce at least 4 different final reports that redacted each time only the info of that bank's competitors?

If not, then all the banks anyway saw each other's commercial info, and as such they would be colluding to hide the info from not each other, but their clients.

An email from Debbie was read describing the lack of protection and that the document was made available by CC, not stolen.

Calls from listeners next - could be interesting.

I'd like to know what charges they plan to bring against the "perpetrator"...

So they're going after the Mybroadband member who wrote details on how to decode the doc. Who was it?

....apparently 702 will do a proper show in week or two.

hopefully caller no3 is more clued up....

Someone really needs to tackle the issue of the completely pathetic security and rubbish the ' hacked and stolen' claim.

It seems like they are blowing smoke and trying to shift the attention to the South African Kevin Mitnick.
