I just opened the Origin client, went to the store. Under BF5 there is a "try it" option, which DLs the beta (pre-load of 14gb which will be playable on the 6th).

As someone who got Origin as a necessity to play BF3 back in the day, I'm aghast that the app still can't schedule downloads (free overnight cap). Go EA...

Hopefully we get some SA servers when the bera goes public. German servers giving me the lost ping at the moment not great but playable, to at least get a feel for it.

I found local servers but they were full. Also played on 150 and was ok but I'm not sure bf5 is for me. It's too infantry focused and there are no levelutions that I've seen. It feels like a medium between cod and bf. This might be the first bf game I don't buy.

I want tanks, planes all the chaos from my bf games. Not a infantry slug fest with 2 clips of ammo.

There are local servers.
I've spoken to an BF employee via Twitter and he's confirmed that servers spawn when there is enough demand. So if let's say at 8am there are only 20 ZA players online there won't be a server.

All I want is just to relive the golden years of BF2. Hands down the most fun I've ever had in MP games to date.

The SAIX servers really were a blast.
