Battlefield 6 - Official Thread

Eish. Since the bots have basically gone away completely my CPU is really struggling with the game. It is either that or the latest patch. Previously I could manage an almost rock solid 100FPS but now if there is any action it is dropping frames, usually by 10 or so but sometimes more. When frames are dropping it feels like a slide show (even if its 90FPS) and I die every time which is weird because I do have a gsync monitor and it is enabled according to OSD.

I have tried the CPU tricks (user.cfg) and it seems like the CPU just can't keep up as it is pretty much always 95% or above.
It is an old CPU i7 8700 which was a beast back in the day (4.3ghz 6 core 12 thread) but it seems like it has reached its limit.
I know it is the CPU as the GPU is always above 130FPS and the CPU struggles even with low settings.

Question now:
I have 32GB of good DDR4. I can get a new 5800xt and Mobo for about R5500.
Do you think that will be enough to give me a nice boost for the next few years? Yes the 5800xt is on an old older AM4 platform but it is faster than my current CPU (on paper) and has 2 extra cores and newer.
A concern is that on YT comparisons there doesn't seem to be that big a gap between the two CPU as the 8700 was a powerhouse for its time.

A 9700x or similar setup is just stupidly expensive at the moment. Probably at least R16k which I just wont spend.

5800X3D or even 5700X3D should do well if you can pick up a good deal, maybe on carbonite someone's interested in selling.

Jammed a couple of maps yesterday and I can confirm that the first map had 0 bots. Second one had a bunch as it started, but it quickly filled up with humans.

I was concerned my 6 core 5600X wouldn’t be enough based on benchmarks so I upgraded to a 5700X 8 core. Also upgraded my 2080 8GB to a 5070 12GB. Also have 32GB DDR4.

This combo performed well at Ultra but I have a 60Hz 4K display.

Note the 5700X doesn’t include a cooler.

Those are impossible to get (at a reasonable price), I settled for a 5700X. From what I read the difference between a 5700X and 5700X3D is not much.
 
Is anyone else having hit reg problems?
I get killed within a few hits but at times have to dump half a mag and still cant get a kill.
I really wish there was a kill cam so i can see what's going on.

It's not the hit reg, it's the netcode
Last few days I've gotten really bad rubberbanding, I see enemies then go behind cover only to die and the red outline of the enemies last position right next to me instead of on the other side of solid cover where he was on my screen. disappearing bullets

The same old Battlefield netcode issues that's plagued the franchise since BF3
 
Played a good couple of hours last night. While matchmaking has improved, it still sucks. Only had one game with bots, the rest was 80/100% humans. But after every round it dumps you into a new game and then you have to wait for it to fill up. Just keep the same players from the last round ffs.

Oh and map rotation is woeful. I only played 3 different maps last night and every second one was Siege of Cairo. But then again I guess you can't call it map rotation as every new map is a new game.

Just scrap matchmaking and give us dedicated servers.

Now that you mention it, that has happened to me as well. Got killed and but there was nobody anywhere near where the games shows the red outline. And then getting killed behind cover or around corners.

It's just so frustrating to shoot someone, blast them with bullets only for them to turn around and insta kill you. Like ,WTF am i shooting rubber bullets or BB pellets.
If COD wasn't a rainbow P-Diddy oil slip and slide fest i would go back there

What mode is that? I tried jumping into one of the CQB type matches the other week and the stupid algorithm they use to put matches / servers together could not even get more than 12 players into the match so it just wouldn't start!

I then gave Breakthrough a try but it really was not that fun 😕

Half full servers
See the same names in every game

If you constantly play with the same people in match making, you know there is nobody playing
 
Hopefully the player numbers become so bad they have to bring back a server browser. That is honestly all I want, just that. I can ****ing match make a server myself thank you very much!
