your diets are stupid
I also understood from the LCHF diet - and please correct me if I am wrong - that even if you do eat at a surplus, you will maintain your body weight. You will only pick up weight again if you are at an extreme surplus.

The ignorance in this statement is astounding.
Currently at 95kg. Goal weight for my height is 75kg. Hoping to achieve that in 3 months.
Doesn't scale directly though...i.e. if you're overweight by quite a bit then you can make some quick gains quite safely. Hell there are cases where hectically overweight people pretty much just stopped eating for a month (vitamins & basic nutrients aside)...worked out fine.20kg in 3 months, thats not going to be what i'd consider safe or effective in the long term.
Healthy weight loss is generally considered to be 1-2 pounds a week.
So at 2 pounds a week (lets round up and say 1kg). Thats 4kg a month, 12kg in 3 months. You're wanting to hit 20kg - thats a tad unhealthy and it also means you're just going to be putting it straight back on again.

That does seem to be the case with me. In my first Banting attempt, I lost almost 10 kg in the first month. However when I fell off the wagon, I put the weight back on (and more) in no time. I have to be more disciplined this time around.
Sounds like you went calorie deficit Banting as apposed to normal Banting. Every Calorie deficit eating lifestyle will result in putting the weight back on when you fall off the wagon.
Had to go low cal coz I lead a fairly sedentary lifestyle. Once I lose a bit of weight and get my fitness levels up a bit, I will try to get in some more exercise. Too self conscious and lacking in motivation to do the whole gym thing at the moment. I am trying to do yoga once a week though.
Mine is also pretty sedentary. But you dont have to go low cal to make Banting work. Just aim to eat what your body needs in calories in the beginning, and allow your body to dictate your appetite. It takes about 2 weeks I found, of eating your calorie requirements, before your body adjusts enough to stave off the natural hunger. And then it dictates your appetite just fine, making it near impossible to fall off the wagon.
