Bed in a box?

Standard queen is R2000 more expensive, almost 30% premium for a throwaway 20yr warranty?
R10,200 at mattress warehouse.
Good price?
Or can be had cheaper elsewhere?

This is the same one you mentioned but JUST the Mattress

I've had my meelu about 2 years now, still holding

There's too many choices! I just need 3 to pick from

I think I'm going with a Cloud 9 mattress as I have a Sleigh bed but with all these choices I may as well go Into a store

I want that hotel bed feel. I should have taken a look at which mattresses they use

All I can say is go firm and go more expensive.
Because you want the least chance it can sag and when it comes to mattresses there’s no free lunch so it’s pointless going cheap because it will sag prematurely and the outlay will be flushed down the drain that could have just been used on a decent mattress in the first place.

Not great advice? If you are a side sleeper, firm will kill you, plush is your friend. Doesn't mean it will start sagging, just because its plush. The firmness is by no means an indication of quality.

Hotel beds - the luxurious kind - are usually high-quality plush mattresses.

I’m a side sleeper and I love a firm bed, I hate that sinking feeling!
I didn’t say firmness is an indicator of quality I said get firm and expensive, just due to the nature of firm it will be more durable. The expensive firm mattress’s don’t feel “hard” in any case, it’s not like sleeping on a plank.
But beds are personal get whatever suits you.

Looking at replacing two side by side queens with a Sloom Cape Town King. What's the consensus on Sloom, yay or nay?

Just go with Cloud nine.
There he is! I'm coming for you!

With my sore back I'll be a bit slow though

So I got a Cloud 9, spent weeks comparing, reading reviews on here for example and went for one that's a 7.5 / 10 firmness rating

I wake up fatigued everyday!

Well for a week now. Will give it another week.

Someone recommended the company that does the swap out policy thing. Can't remember who but thanks for that

This doesn't feel like the hotel bed I felt like getting into and slept like a baby on 2 teaspoons of Panado Syrup

I think.. I'm going to try Plush or a Pillow top?

I'm mostly a side sleeper

Suggestions again please kind Sleepers?

Which one? I've been sleeping on them my whole life without issue.

It's a toughie, I got the Sealy Strato Posturepedic Plush, but in retrospect I would go even more plush if budget allowed. Also, I went with the extra length option eventhough I am not really a tall guy, but it allowed me to be sure that my feet never hang off the end.

Best advise I can give would be to get it with the recommended mattress protector, and then get it swopped out for different or additional plush, if you feel it's not enough. Give us feedback please!

That was me, did you get it from Dial Direct and did you pay the extra for the mattress protector?

Don't forget to read Dial Directs TsCs for the swapout. It's not that glamorous.
Whats in there of note?
I can imagine they don’t make it easy but at least it is an option of last resort.

Firstly I think we are referring to Dial a bed (and not dial direct - insurance).
  1. Between 31 and 100 nights, you may exchange the bed for one of equal or greater value.
  2. If you elect to exchange, you are responsible for the delivery charge.
1. What if the next bed I want to try is one that is cheaper. Nope, cant do.
2. What are these charges. This can become quite costly.

What happens if I am not happy with the second bed.

Their process discourages trying a bed and return or exchange it if you are not happy.

Yes, it is better than nothing I guess, but compare to sloom:

- We will arrange a free collection and refund in full.

So, I would probably want try a sloom first, 30 days one firmness, 30 days a different firmness, and then return if really not happy.

Then only consider one of the other bed shops with TcCs you need to consider which will end up costing you extra.

I am going to read your mind
You actually meant to say Beds Direct
And yes I DID get the mattress (semen)protector

So I'm going to try a plush option and see from there

Hopefully they don't mind me swapping like 3 times till I find one that feels good for me

I got the Cloud 9 Monoflex Queen Mattress

Previous mattress had springs

This is foam, hot foam.

I was referring to Dial-a-bed, does beds direct also offer that?

Hmm I think so. I'll check

But seriously with this bed you'll ever need an electric blanket

Now I have no idea what to choose Next

I see a lot of people buy beds from tafelberg furnishers can anyone recommend them for a bed?
