Behind the Afrihost Mobile promotion

It's 10GB for R145 if you get your device before the 31st, and if you can manage to do that 5GB! Second thoughts, I'm letting 6 month term lapse!

Gian for king!

Edit: And they're still giving them away on Twitter and Facebook.

Good luck to them.

I've got no loyalty for these ISPs- I hop from promo to promo, riding their loss-leading until the pricing stabilises.

Then it's off to the next promo :)

The downward trend this brings in general pricing is appreciated though...

The real innovation that Afrihost has brought to the table here is the concept of month-to-month billing for mobile data. None of the network operators is capable of offering this, their billing systems can only handle prepaid or contract.

Where did you read this?

Does it really differ that much from contract billing? The only thing missing is the contract really.

Thats what i like! Not being tied in to one ISP for 24 months!

“We obviously can’t sell data cheaper than MTN for the long term, without funding the loss from our hosting business,” said Payne.

“This special will, however, entice users to try us out for six months and Afrihost believes that there will be users who port over from other service providers to MTN to enable them to experience the customer service that Afrihost has become famous for,” said Payne.

“If we are successful in doing this, it will be a win for both MTN and Afrihost.”

Between the lines, this looks to be an appeal to MTN to reduce their wholesale rates to Afrihost.

For the R145 you get 5GB for August and 5GB for September.

Sourced from Afrihost's Facebook and Twitter

There might have been an error somewhere but the data is valid until the end of September. You will only get 5GB between now and 30th September. Only in October will you get another 5GB.

So we're only being charged once (R145) for Aug & Sept? Edit: Aah Nevermind :). Just realized its the end of the month anyways & that we were only supposed to get the delivery in Sept.

Since they planned for them to reach after 2 Sept it's fair to assume that, even if the deliveries are already reaching

Hi all

Just want to confirm things here quickly, if you receive your device now or on the "go live date" you'll have the 5GB's of data available to use until the end of September. We've correct the Facebook info too.

Edit: I see AfriGirl beat me to it :)
