Behind the scenes at Telkom

Telkom has too weak a ratio between customers:technicians to provide a decent customer support. It's not the people at the call centre's fault; they are paid in peanuts and work incredibly long shifts, and Telkom will not hire more people for customer support, nor upgrade their support systems with automation, because it does not prove to be a profitable decision to the shareholders (primarily government).
Nearly every person I have met from Telkom is the most down-to-earth, awesome dude, and all they every get is crap from customers... and the thing is... they can't avoid it; if they dedicate too much time to one customer, then they don't have any time for the other six trying to get help. Telkom needs to hire more experienced, friendly people like them to help more customers concurrently. Telkom is not evil -- just the people at the top of it are greedy, and don't seem to understand that a better support system means customers will buy, and stay with, their products.
