Best Rechargeable batteries?

Thanks for the link.... that cleared things up...

Guess the high capacity ones are for me, press photography (need the flash to be as ready as can be) then just stick them on charge when I get home...

I didnt shoot all that much last night so I've just set up a time lapse and am just going to shoot them dry.

I'm in a similar line and what I really need is for that spare set (or 6) being fresh enough when I dig them out to get me through the long days. You can always swap batteries out but if that set you pull out is flat . . . forgetaboutit.

I'm shooting a frame every five seconds and have fired off 502 so far without a misfire.

I had a look and I fired it 54 times last night.
 
Ok wow they sound great. Were you firing them off at 1/2 power or full power?
I just picked up a set now so will see how they do this weekend. I think im also going to get a set of 2700's for when I know that I'll be using lots of flash and can charge them fuly beforehand

Hmmm, perhaps I should have switched off ettl?

It's not a definitive test by any means but it's as much as I'm really bothered to do. :)

EDIT: Update - 1000 shots and no misfires. Considering the wear and tear on my gear I'm going stop now because that's good enough for me. :)

To put it into perspective over the course of the SWC I took 7895 shots at the fanfest and only used a flash for 2174 of those shots.

Not sure about canon flashes but with the nikons when you fire the test button and the flash is on ttl mode it fires at 1/16 power iirc...

I wasn't pressing the test button, the flash was connected to a tethered camera so I could let it run it's course and see from the exif data if/when it misfired.
 
Thread necro. Any nice specials on rechargeable batteries at the moment?Looking at the Uniross Hybrio batteries. I got two with my camera and they work well. Ive looked around but havent seen anything yet. Preferably brick and mortar store.

If no specials does anyone have an idea where the best prices generally are? Game, Makro?

Id like to get a charger with if possible. The charger I have can only charge two at a time and If I go travelling in the near future I might have to charge 4 overnight (camera takes two AA's).

Anyone know of any rechargeable cr123's? My dad recently got a torch but doesn't have rechargeable...

friend got some of the high mAh energizers, they seem to be right up there as well. the mAh is high enough so that even with self-discharge, they last long enough. search the POTN forums for the '25000 something flash pops later' (can't remember exact title) thread, good review of most of the common rechargeables available, ito speedlights.

Using a few Hybrios (bought from Clicks - which sometimes has specials) - which are fine (now using them only for camping torches) - but mostly use Energizer AAs - got three sets which all live with my camera - they have been very good value. Got most of my rechargeables through BoB (bidorbuy) on auction.

I thought I'd put them through their paces before commenting here, but I've always had joy with Hahnel as a brand. I use several of their batteries in my DSLR and recently gave their AA rechargeables a try. I use them in both a flash and tracking mount for a telescope, and I am happy to report that they're lasting longer than Duracells I used before. They're fairly pricey, but I'd say worth it.

From the pamphlet they just dont look like the white Hybrios I have at the moment.

I see theres a charger with 4 hybrios aswell.
