Best Rechargeable batteries?

First I've heard of cameras finally being able to charge via USB. I like that!

Get with the times. There's a substantial advantage to not having to design a camera around the output of two AA batteries. The number of shots I get out of my various cameras with funky batteries far exceeds anything I got out of any camera I had that took AA batteries.
 
Has anybody heard of GP ReCyko+ batteries? Saw them at the camera shop and they're also meant to hold their charge while not in use. Going at R100 per pair, which is basically double the price of the Hybrio batteries, should I give these blokes a shot and see how they perform? It's either going to be one set(4 batteries) of these ReCyko+'s or else 2 sets of those falsely advertised Hybrios. :confused:

If you try them let us know how they work out. It's getting close to that time of the year when I rotate out some of my stock.
 
I have three sets of four of the GP ReCyko+ and 2 sets Uniross Hybrio and I am very happy with both makes. I use them in all my gadgets like keyboards, camera, torches and remotes for their longevity. The GP ReCyko+ are two years and a few month old now and all sets are still in a good condition. I am not a regular photographer and don't use my camera often, sometimes even for a few months, the batteries still keep their charge.

I must state that I use a LaCrosse charger, which is a well known make and considered one of the best chargers. It can charge each cell individually with individual charging rates if so desired. One can even use different sizes of batteries at the same time for charging. Furthermore it can test the charge capacity and recondition cells.

Got those GP batteries on recommendation of Radio Lens, a well known camera shop in Pretoria. Radio Lens had them cheaper than the Hybrios at PnP.

My biggest concern is that I'll often fire off the flash(s) 500-1000 times in one session so I need plenty of reserves in the bag.
 
Picked up a set of GP ReCyko+ this morning which I'll test tonight. Hopefully I'll have found a suitable replacement for the now hard to get Hybrio's.

Like I mentioned, having the long storage capability is far more important for my needs. I've got at least 7 sets of batteries in my bag, trying to keep them all freshly charged would drive me batty.
 
Did you get them from Katz? Im going to pick up a set either today or tomorrow

Will you be testing them out before the afternoon? I'm planning on collecting mine after work so hopefully you'd have tested them by then and gotten some good results.
