Best Rechargeable batteries?

Maybe, but I bought the 2700mAh ones because they gave me the fastest recycle of any battery. I do have two Hybrios, but unfortunately I don't have any flashguns that take only two batteries. :)

Which batteries did you include in your test?

BTW did you say whose 2700mAh they are?

I doubt it - you can check but as far as I can recall I've only ever recommended their Hybrio's.

Still do.
 
Anyway, it doesn't matter now - my needs have developed considerably :) I think I'll buy two more Hybrios and compare.
 
I am/was a fan of the Hybrio's. I have lots of them that I have used in the past. I just find them to run out of breath alot faster than the other batteries I have also used. They also have have deteriorated faster from a capacity point of view as time passed and with use.

I used GP batteries for a while -- was very happy except the discharge characteristic if left on the shelf. Then tried the Uniross -- great for on the shelf, but poor in high drain situations -- like two flash guns @ a wedding.

The Energisers are the latest and so far the best of the lot. I am also shooting alot more often that I used so the shelf discharge issue is less relevant now.

Strange - my year to two year old Hybrio's seemed to have much more staying power than the brand new Energisers.

Maybe I got two packs from bad batches?

Eventually I will... Until I actually get paid for shooting (with a flash), the Sigma will remain my primary flash. I have another Vivitar that I use as a second with an optical trigger (I can't put it on my camera, it will fry it).

Had this problem with multiple GP cells.
Will never use them again.
Hybrios are great, but don't use fast chargers.
Mind you, don't use fast chargers on any rechargeable, since they drastically shorten the lifespan.
I even use a cooling fan on my intelligent chargers to keep the cells cool, since heat is their biggest enemy.
 
AA rechargeable batteries for cameras

Can someone please tell me which are the best rechargeable AA batteries to use in a digital camera,that is able to keep their charge for a long period.I have searched the forum and is unable to find anything in this regard. I am using Duracell 2000ma at the moment but i have to recharge them weekly and the dont seem to hold their charge.
 
I've had good results with the Uniross Hybrio, or Sanyo Eneloop. These maintain charge over time much better than the normal NiMH batteries.
 
1. Uniross
2. Kodak. These are 4 years old and still going strong, not sure what make it is under the Kodak label.

GP are the worst I've come across, poor life span, seem to loose maximum charge fairly quickly.
 
I don't have personal experience with the Sanyo Eneloops, but doing some research on overseas forums and Radio Control forums, the Sanyos are apparently the favoured ones. The Uniross Hybrios are also good.

Where does one find these Sanyo Eneloop batteries, i have been searching high and low to find any and even sent a email (to which they did not reply )to Sanyo South Africa, but cannot find these batteries anywhere in the Pretoria-Centurion area can someone please help.

Hybrios are cool - they keep their charge for over a year if not used... it's weeks for ordinary li-ion rechargeables. Pick n Pay and CNA have them at the best price. PnP had them at R100 for 6 recently... 2 free. R100 for 4 is a good price as it is. R50 cheaper than clicks et al.

Nice price - just check that they're not the 1800's though. :o
 
Off topic but related: Lithium battery in my camera: Nikon EN-EL12 Lithium-ion Battery

My battery is fully charged, so I take several photos and jack in my usb to pc to download them, my battery charges whilst connected.

Should I wait till the battery is flat before I do this ?
