Best Rechargeable batteries?

+1 for eneloops. bought them from zaps.co.za. only other local shop is sybaritic, but i think zaps was cheaper.

friend got some of the high mAh energizers, they seem to be right up there as well. the mAh is high enough so that even with self-discharge, they last long enough. search the POTN forums for the '25000 something flash pops later' (can't remember exact title) thread, good review of most of the common rechargeables available, ito speedlights.

Those grey, four battery, chargers that come with the uniross batteries are possibly the worst charger you can use.

Those grey ones just keep charging and charging and charging until you pull the battery out. A good charger prevents overcharging.

To see how some are better, look up the Maha chargers. They are the Rolls Royce of battery chargers. Same price as well...

So since finding the 2100mva Hybrio's is getting almost impossible and I have 40 hours of shooting coming up this weekend I bought 12 Energizer 2450 NiMH today to augment my stash. Before I start relegating some of my older Hybrio's to the kid's toys has anyone had any experience with these Energizers?

Just shot a function with these a couple of hours ago, the function was about 5 hours long, I shot about 400 shots, all with flash, two flash guns shot up at a ceiling for bounce flash, so reasonably hard on the flashes and thus the batteries. I kept waiting for batteries to die, kept checking on them but they never did, the recycle times during the whole event never prevented a shot so I am a happy camper.

I do keep a Uniross 1 hour Sprint charger on me and a spare set of batteries for each flash in case though.

Not sure about quickly - I fired off my flash 2341 times over the long weekend.

I went through a lot of batteries - at least four sets per day. I changed them a few times before they ran out when I had a break but the overall impression I was left with was the older Uniross ones lasted longer.

I use 2450Mah Energizers for my 360/wii and they are fine. The Uniross batts didn't seem to work well in the controllers as I had response issues when using them. I use the Uniross for my flashes, but don't use them to the extent that they die on me. I was using the same charger I use for all my NiMH batteries which I set to a 6 hour cycle.

It's not a train smash - I'm sure the kids will appreciate the Energizers for their toys.

woah, I never noticed that they're actually 1900mah. I'm trying to decide between the 2700mah vs the Hybrio 2100. The 2700's don't hold their charge like the Hybrio's do when not being used but on the other hand they have more capacity to them. Any suggestions?

I have a pair of Hahnel. Impressive when new but deteriorating quite badly over time.

I have bought the Duracell rechargeables at Woolies. Can't say I am a heavy user, but bang for buck I am happy with them
