Best web camera software?

Hey guys,

I just got a web cam for my PC and now I'm looking for software to use with it. The few applications I've tried aren't any good.

Any recommendations?

What must the software do?
Skype has a perfectly fine working ability to transmit video calls, if that's all that you want to do.

I want to play around with it. Make a few videos, capture images, use it with my IM apps and also the occasional Skype.

Yawcam is freeware and may be distributed in unmodified form.
