BIS capped on MTN

I approve of this in general - maybe it'll help make BIS usable, but two things puzzle me about this:
  • I received no such SMS
  • How exactly are they going to fundamentally alter a product halfway through the contract? Unilateral amendments of contracts are not legal in SA...

Half arsed as usually...

On the contract you signed MTN reserves the right to alter pretty much anything.

So what happens if you used up your allotment of 200mb half-way throughout the month? afaik bbm/bb-email doesn't work with normal data bundles for the pre-OS10 devices. Or do they expect you to buy another BIS package then?

TG I'm not on this network. Cell C all the way!

May I change the contract as well?- like MTN? Is such a contract legal at all? Stay away, like myself !!

I received this SMS at 15:14 this afternoon from +278393003361627 . I am an existing BIS subscriber on a number of phones, and upgraded to a Z10 on Friday. All I know is that MTN staff alluded to changes to BIS after mentioning to me that the Z10 would not have it at all and if I understood that. I guess we will know soon. I wonder what the other operators are going to offer. Cell C looks promising at least.

Well, you get Mega OOOOOOOOBd!
Basically MTN bends you over, and dry humps you!

Yep Cell C all the way!

And so it begins... R45 gets you 300MB of data on Cell C.

Yet, the ignorant will continue paying R59 every month for Bull***** Internet Service.

I know. Its cute. Won't fly in court though.

One of the core elements of a valid contract is consensus between the two parties.

Lots of companies take a chance on this...ISP favour that BS too.

BlackBerry doesn't have enough money to sponsor Uncapped Internet anymore so they have to bring a throttle system in place.

It wasn't sustainable in the first place.

I am sure BlackBerry Z10 makes use of BIS infrastructure or smething

My personal, if cynical, take on this is that MTN (read all the providers really) did not like uncapped BIS. Data is where all the profit is now. And the Out of Bundle Shark feeds it well. As a consumer you are always going to be marginalized. Data rape as it were.
