I'm waiting for BitCo to install to get rid of my pis-poor congested ADSL, you guys cant wait to get rid of BitCo and replace it with ADSL. What gives?

Various Issues, however which ISP doesn't have issues? But in general Bitco is a far better option!

The fix I got don't know if it will solve it for ever. :)

Right I've changed tuned and changed the MTU, the speedtest to the xbox servers look alot more promising, no packet loss, where originally it would be in the region of 3%-5%.

However as for testing the game............. as Murphy would say ....typical...... Xbox Live is down the Social and Gaming Service seems to be having a moment!!

Will advise on testing when the service is back up!!

Just gave the above a little more thought, changing the MTU ain't gonna do much, as the issue with BF4 is the packet reading protocols on the service network identifying the game as a torrent download, Im assuming this would just improve the packet loss %,

Can someone confirm the above.

I'm not technically inclined but would adding the IP's being used for BF4 especially the local ones to a priority list not remove them from the torrenting protocol? Or is there more to it?

I was not trying to piss on Loo's parade but I cannot even tell you how frustrating ADSL is in the Radiokop/Little-Falls/Honeydew Ridge/Strubensvallei areas. In a way I can deal with the 100+ms DSL pings as I do not game as often but it is the accompanying dropping of packets the come with congestion that just kills sensitive services like streaming or VOIP.

It got to the point where I had to switch DStv back on, hat in hand, since ADSL just could sustain even a crap-connection tolerant service like Netflix.

Hi, all the BitCo consumers!

I have been contacting them regarding these issues for about 5+- months.

Here, is some evidence of the 4th major disconnection I have encountered since last night. In a ticket I was told that this has been fixed. To my surprise, I get another visit/disconnection after the ticket has been closed.

The screenshots in this folder show previous issues I have encountered while running tests over two days. Results show a stunning loss of 37%.

I have edited to say that BitCo is indeed working on new high-sites within my area and this may fix the issue. If you are in a better area then I believe BitCo may still be a good ISP to go with. I believe it is the Randburg area (the high-site that I'm connected to) that is a disaster at the moment but as I said, they are working on new high-sites to relieve the Randburg tower of its load.

I apologize if this influenced any of you and your decision to go with BitCo when you may have been within range of a stable high-site. The times that my link was rather stable (minor packet loss), the link was more than fine for streaming and browsing. The response time/ping with gaming felt remarkable except for the minor constant packet loss and small spikes in packets sent. The packet loss results in the game losing functionality for that one packet, which can be very frustrating when it happens constantly at a rate of 0.5-1% of all packets sent. But even these good qualities (that made the service almost acceptable) withered away the last few months. My link feels very bad. Only at late nights/early mornings (12pm-6am) is it an almost acceptable link. During the day, streaming (this counts for Twitch, etc. I believe Youtube will be fine) is affected and needs to load every now and then. Gaming will be affected as well. At late afternoons/early nights (5pm - 11pm), you will experience a peak time, in which the tower is very overloaded and at times, your link will feel useless. This is the reality for people connected to the high-site I'm connected to, but if your high-site seems reliable then go ahead. I believe you will experience a fine link and stable service.

Unfortunately, I landed on the bad end of BitCo. I apologize to all that may have been mislead. I also apologize to BitCo for any trouble. The issue is being attended to but it is a timely process that will require patience.

OK that does it. I was about to have it installed but I'm now definitely not doing so.

I'm waiting for my installation phone call and I'm getting very worried after reading all the posts of people having problems and not getting support. Don't know what to do really. I don't really have a different option than BitCo.

I still have 0 issues. Seems like my speed issue was resolved still no idea what the cause was. I'll wait for Mike's e-mail but I'm still very very happy.

/touch wood.

Solitude, maybe hold in. It will be very frustrating is you pay them good money month by month with no response if you pick up a problem.
