I should probably be asking this on a Blender forum but I'll try my luck.

When I'm in the top view for instance, how do I get back to the previous user view? The user view being the view I last manipulated with the middle mouse button.

I would like to switch between the two while modelling but I can't seem to find a great way to do this.

In the Blender manual it says that under the View menu there's a User option but that option isn't displaying for me and I can't seem to find a shortcut key for it.

It must be something simple though so any help will be appreciated. :)

Switching and aligning the camera has so many options. Few hotkeys
ALT and the 0 on Num Pad restores original view
Alt+Ctrl+num0 align camera to active object

So my guess would be Shift+num0 or Alt+num0

Alt or Alt+Ctrl or Shift and combination of NumPad numbers give you diffrent views like 4 would give you left and 6 right, 2 down and 8 up

Ctrl and mouse wheel and Shift and mouse wheel rotate view left right or up down

Thanks gfmalan, I tried out all the combinations that you mentioned but none of them does what I want.

In Visual Studio I can switch back to the previous file that I was busy with by pressing ctr+tab. Something like that with the views in Blender would be amazing. And I just can't see it not being there.

Hi, so basically not switch camera views, but rather toggle between documents?
( so toggle between 2 opened .blend files)

Nope, in the Blender case I mean switching between camera views. I just gave Visual Studio as an example because the files make up a project.
