BMW 320i vs 320D: your choice?

lekker man..I expect the pics to be loaded here no later than 1hr after collection. So 10am GMT+2. :crylaugh:

For a dealer you seem to forget just how long it takes to sign all that paper :p

I'll say upfront mine isn't as eye-catching as GTX's. I went for the classic, laid-back look.

Lol spot on. Retired though. Car history as long as my arm also.

Well, you wanted to have a nick starting with an F as well, and also post a lot about cars (when you're not posting about your balls*).

*And no, I won't forget about that. I will keep punishing you with it until you swear you'll never post another thread like that ever again :p

Haha...How much times you gonna bring that up.

You just brought up balls in your own car buying thread...for shame

On a personal note, what trim line are you interested in? M Sport (red line), Luxury Line (wood), standard (gray plastic)? Personally I'd avoid a high-mileage M Sport coz you know it'll have been thrashed harder than most. Good luck with it, let us know how it goes. I'm picking up my new baby tomorrow morning, bright and early! :D

And exactly how would you know this?

Nothing about the trim level or package of a car says anything about how it was driven.

Except assumption of course.

R220k which is quite decent I think.

The killer is the high mileage 140k :(

I think I should take the risk as I do have cash saved up if something goes wrong and I am just totally in love with it lol

That’s not high mileage at all man.

And you can’t go wrong with SMG.

Do it!

Yeah, all GTIs and M3s are driven by grannies once a week as they go buy milk, that's all. We've seen the ads on Gumtree, we know.

Looks amazing fox! Congrats man!

The bank is being slow about paying the dealership should have gotten it yesterday, now might only be Monday.

Damn dude, no drag race for us this weekend after all. And thanks buddy!

Just two more of the interior:

That is my point exactly.

I know of more than one AMG and GTI and the like that is actually literally driven by a granny or older mature tannie.

Never gets hammered, which is actually bad for the cars in many ways.

You can’t just assume that it gets smashed because of a badge.

In fact you should assume the exact opposite that the little cars get hammered way more because they don’t have the power like the fancy big ones.

Not to mention that if it was owned by someone who really loves cars and for warmed up properly and cooled down nicely after the fact that a thrashing actually isn’t all that bad for it necessarily.

It’s the grannies who go from frosty winter morning straight to red line around the first corner that are bad for cars in their non-M3 non-GTI wagons.

You just can’t know any of the cars history looking at a badge.

Very nice dude.

Very rarely see those rims any more. Classy stuff.

Dig the colour too.

Thanks Sauron, I'm super-stoked with it :) My wife really loves it, she's already driven it lol. "Now I see why you love automatics" is the first thing she said, 'nuff said.

I'll share a few insights later on, got the owner's manual up with me to study :D One early thing I'll say: nobody needs to buy a 320D because they're worried the 320i won't be powerful enough. This is plenty fast enough for everyday use.
