bonus any one ?

A friend of mine got 200% his annual salary as a bonus in March this year in the Banking industry.

I'd probably buy an entire second house, cash.
That's some mega green. I've heard of people here getting 300k/400k bonuses, but that's closer to 30% their salaries. SARS also takes half of it, which seriously stings.

Geez damn auto correct meant they would say you are lying.

Know of the same at a couple places but as another poster mentioned Financial sector took a knock apparently so not holding thumbs

Depends how valuable you are I suppose. Barclays is poaching tons of people so the companies are trying to hold onto their staff.
With a bit of luck, a month from now I'll be in the 7 figure salary bracket.

Probably depending what department he was in, his position and performance for the previous year.

It is not uncommon for certain individuals getting 8-15 million in bonuses while earning about 1-2 million a year in salary. As for the plebs, middle-management, etc., bonuses will never be 200 times their annual salary, hell, it will not even be close to their annual salary.

I did have a friend a few years ago who came up with an idea for the bank he worked at. They liked his idea and it was implemented. They actually paid him a R2m bonus for coming up with the idea.

Interesting.. Explains the mails I've been getting.
Reviews were favorable but because no Union to back me up.. I'm stuck. They might give me the raise and grading promotion in lieu of all that though
 
Last few places I have worked has been 50% of a salary give or take 10%.

Was one of a handful to get a discretionary bonus this year.

Things like this is awesome. drives innovation. Shows that any idea from almost anyone can be valuable.
 
My bonus scheme is 50% of my annual salary, paid out twice a year in August and December. Both payouts are based on customer stat scores that we survey in July and November.

Sat scores looking good so far but we not at the end of November yet.
