Get a converter, most electronic shops should have them.

thanks... which way around though... I'm assuming its 220v to 110v? so step down....

Just thought of something - this thing is probably going to be American 110v - what do I need over here to use it?

Most power supplies are dual voltage these days ... so wait till you get it before you buy a step down transformer.

last night i installed the BoxEE application for windows, if it’s the same than the actual player application, and you will be using it online, it will beat the crap out of mede8er or any other media player for that matter
Problem with the windows app it seems like you have to be online the whole time, but im not sure, I was too lazy to unplug the network cable :p
you guys can actually preview it for yourself, just install the application on windows and have a look, this with a 10mb line will be spectacular

I used to run it on my PC - IIRC - it works offline as well.

But But but... what if it isn't and I can't find a step down transformer...and I have to wait an extra day to play :p

i was not sure, because i needed to register a username and password to log into the application, i did not know if it needed to authenticate online each time...

Estimated date of delivery is Tuesday (Your package is in the UPS system and has a rescheduled delivery date of 05/04/2011) :(

That looks about right unfortunately, I've watched something get from Amazon to Durban in 3 days.. and take another 2 weeks to get to me about 25kms from the Distribution centre in Durban :(

OK, checked out some more forums ... okes from UK and Aus who ordered Boxee's from the US ... 110 - 230 V input, so no prob there. You'll just need a plug converter.

Checked on the UPS tracking site today, said they'd deliver by end of business today - phoned the number to ask if I could change location, apparently the site isn't accurate for SA - item is till at customs which takes awhile...

Currently still says:
Scheduled Delivery:
Monday, 04/04/2011, By End of Day

I wonder what recourse you have when you pay a company like UPS R700-800 for four day delivery and then it gets held by customs.

Just hope its here by the weekend, tried watching movies over my PS3 - but PC can't handle HD :(

Got a call from UPS - they want to deliver today, customs is R457.07, which is 32% of the purchase price... strangely high...

Duty SCH1P2B - 112.35
Customs Vat - 230.72
Disbursement Fee - 114
