BTGames online ordering nightmare.

thanks, because clearly constantly repeating my spelling mistakes is no sort of aggravation at all now isnt it...i have never once disrespected you either, maybe insulted yes, because the spelling correction thing isnt something done out of heart either it is there to post a indirect insult....

i am a representative yes, but for the company you work for, you are one too, and yes i have morals to live up to, which i feel that im doing just fine, i have been pleasant enough to pass this thread and all others alike too, i have simply correct dal2000 before others read and get a misunderstanding, i simply have not said another in this thread, but rather gained the knowledge of the problems and have simply posted BT games deals onto Mybb before, so i think im pretty much doing the things i need to, but when it comes to be obnoxious, i will put a foot down and be the other person i am, for yes i have the right of speech outside of a company too you do know that....

and yes i wont know the single handed experience of every single customer, but there is nothing wrong from passing the problems here on, and my next comment to dal200 would have been to please mention the store where he was told that information for it needed to be address, as baby steps now = future happier customers, if you where to know me better you would realise that customer satisfaction is something i store is know for in the company, and weather a customers leaves the store without his game he wanted because of our advice be it that way, rather than come back fuming he hates the title

Just to add my voice to the mix: I've also had more than my share of problems with BT Games. Last year I pre-ordered a game that got delayed until this year. I was eagerly anticipating the title at the end of a month but then I was looking at their release schedule and saw the game was already released 2 weeks ahead of schedule. No one emailed me. No one phoned me. No one sent an sms. So I had to fight and argue with them about paying extra because I was a week and a half late. But that was entirely their fault. And then there's the Witcher 2 fiasco... And the orders disappearing randomly from my account. The horror.

Got to disagree with the tread.

You disagree with the fact that many of us have had repeated problems with BT Games; problems which continue to leave a sour taste?

Well, you know what they say, no amount of disagreeing with reality makes reality any less real.

sure its speaking on his behalf, right by how many other people are having the same issue tho, and not sure what is up, my biggest and known problem is the many many customers that do not receive there sms's on game arrivals, that is the biggest bummer of it all, so at our store we just tell them the release date when we know it, and tell them to just check into the store because sometimes the sms systems doesn't work, and that has saved us a few troubles, unfortunately it is nothing we can change, but only "bug' to get fixed

Three threads by me on my multiple issues with BT Games.

Couldn't be arsed to go through it all again.

BT Games sucks in every regard and you're lucky if you find competent store staff. The fact remains that they sucked at least two years ago and they still suck just as much today.

I can only speak from my own experience which has been positive on the two occasions I've bought items via the Website. My in-store experiences have also been positive (Cavendish)

PS:

Michaelmw - you need to grow up. When you openly state that you represent a company online, you are expected to exhibit a higher standard of behavior than the other anonymous posters here. No excuses, no exceptions - it's called being professional and will stand you in good stead for the rest of your life and working career.

If you are unable to distinguish between effective and ineffective methods and modes of written communication, I suggest a Business Writing Skills course.

I've never had a problem ordering online from BT. Only once I didn't get notice that a game was available, but I called them on release day and it was waiting for me.

I've enjoyed good relations with the staff at my local branch (Greenstone) too.
I don't particularly like the exchange system, of late I have felt a little shafted on trade in prices, but I'd still rather trade in by them than by Game Exchange. *shudder*

I agree that a rep would be advisable. And I would definitely like to see an upgrade on their website. As a customer, I would like to be able to see what orders/preorders I've placed and the status of them from the web.

I'd say he's representing said company rather accurately.

I had problems with the Cataclysm Preorder on the BT Games website for the Cavendish branch. I preordered and everything and got confirmation.

When I got to the Cavendish Branch when I went on holiday to Cape Town they claimed I never preordered anything for collection at their store and got very angry with them. So they quickly made me a preorder the same day and had to fetch it last evening. Luckily I went and checked beforehand, imagine if I rocked up at the launch and got told I can't get my game.

I lost a Cataclysm T-shirt due to their competition problems. I was present they called my name and went to them and said I won and they had already tore up the paper with my name on and were redrawing a new winner.

So anyone around Cavendish stay away from their BT Games store if you are preordering and going to the midnight launch.

just pre-order Batman Arkham City. I've not paid yet but will paid on launch day. let hope they dont mess it up... :)

Seriously BTGames, you need to look at your online ordering, to put it bluntly, it sucks.

I decided what the heck, lets see how things go, and paid for my pre-order, yet you don't send a confirmation of payment received, so how am I supposed to prove payment? Ok I did take a screenshot of the payment confirmation screen, but come on, you receive payment, the system generates an invoice, that is basic php for dummies.....

So thinking, heck maybe I'm daft, surely my online account will show the order has been paid, so I go to login, and guess what, it still hasn't been activated?

Holding thumbs that A: someone will respond to the email I sent and B: on the day you guys won't eff up the simple order.

You should get an e-mail within 24 hours (after payment clears) with an updated invoice saying the amount owed looking like this:
BoS%20BS.jpg

It's one of mine.

If they're so lax that they no longer even do THAT, then simply wooow.

Thanks, lets see, CC is instant payment, but even 24 hrs later is something

OK, so I thought I should double check my BF3, this is what their system says:

"There are no orders available for display."

Think I'll fire off an email inquiry now!

I have Skyrim: CE and Mass Effect 3: N7 Edition on pre-order. I see neither are showing either.

Surprise, surprise

Not even going to bother.

My only experience with them happened after I got burned by a kalahari pre-order...

Pre-ordered a game from them to collect in store 2 days before release, when I arrived to pick up they made me pay in as the price had changed... In 2 days... to basically their in shop price.

Another time I went to the shop on release day without a pre-order, and they gave me someone elses pre-order.

So I guess it all balanced out. Stick to Takealot.
