Budget Car Recommendations

As an owner of a french car... I wouldnt outright recommend it as a budget/reliable car hahaha. I would say japanese (or korean). If you do go french, only the Clio, Megane, Koleos are french. the Sandero is romanian I think, and the kwid is Indian or some other 3rd world build (not that 3rd world is always bad, we make BMW's toyotas, mercedes etc).

Indian third word build is bad, no questions about that. I think it's different with us since we produce middle and high end cars for the international market, I think India has become too used to producing to third world markets like us.

Everything about the etios is just dull. my goodness that interior, those materials. oh lord my skin is crawling already.
If it was just a matter of being dull it wouldn't really be a problem, the damn thing is cheap, and they did not even pretend to even try to hide the cheapness.

My cousin has one and my almost 20 year old car look very decent next to it, the carpet looks terrible and pieces of trim are falling off, everytime you get inside you must smack something back into place.

I see the Uber sedans also look to be falling apart, the panel gaps are widening and they look to have been in an accident, it is really a terrible car and it breaks my heart that people bought so many of them just because they are Toyota while there were many better cars to choose from.

Yeah I worked in the automotive industry for 10 yrs. Seen pretty much all the automotive factories in Durban and Pretoria. It's to the same standards as any first world country. India on the other hand started and has always focused on cheap.

Nail on the head. I dont know which i hate more, the kwid or etios. They are terrible cars. materials could qualify as Styrofoam.

Kwid wins as it at least has some styling consideration and android auto.

How about the Opel Corsa?

That's a good option, the build quality is miles ahead of the previously mentioned options, what I always advise is for people to buy affordable used car that were not made cheap to begin with, the Corsa is such a car, it was never a stripped out version of something or some Indian made mediocrity.
