I just got this from Banggood. Asked to be refunded.

Been struggling to get the email "lost letter" from Buffalo Logistics since last Friday and the Seller on Aliexpress just won't understand what I'm trying to tell him as to what happened.

Mine still shows as cleared on their tracking as well. No answer on their whatsapp either. I received my refund from Banggood and ordered from Sunsky, selected Aramex this time. Faster shipping and almost the same price. I placed the order on Saturday, it was sent for shipping yesterday. According to Aramex it is already on a plane and should be with me on Tuesday. So pretty quick compared to Buffalo. One nice thing is they give you about 5 or 6 shipping options with different pricing and lead times depending on what you need.

Glad to read that store is legit, seems like Sunsky also got a much larger variety of stuff compared to Bangood.
I'm going to order once you receive your item!

I placed a new order on Sunday but I chose the standard shipping with shipping and tariff insurance. Total shipping cost was just under R50. ( Shipping insurance: R8.66, Tariff Insurance: R8.67, Shipping Fee: R27.60). Got the SMS not for paying customs R56.27 for an order of R433.
With tariff insurance they refund you any import duties you pay. I sent them (edit: banggood) the proof of payment and the invoice buffalo sent me. They processed the refund of the R56.27 and I should get it on Monday since its the weekend now.
Its a few min of admin work but if you want to save R40 - 50. Then you can go with tariff insurance over the tax free shipping option. I will update when the refund is in my account

Got my R56.27 refund from banggood for the import taxes today.
It amazes me how slow Buffalo are. Six days for a parcel to arrive and then leave their Johannesburg facility. (this is after customs)
You order something from China, its here in a few days, and then takes 2-3 weeks to get delivered within South Africa.

SAPO is driving people to use Buffalo more, I wonder how they dealing with the volumes. I would have guessed they are ready for this kind of volume based on how their shipping works.
I ordered a bunch of IoT stuff on the 31st of August - it arrived here quite quick, and then slowed to SA pace.

Won't Aramex charge a disbursement fee when the parcel arrives in Sa?

Not sure. They phoned me yesterday to get my ID number. They said they were going to pay clearance. Will see what happens this week.

21 days is a bit longer than average. I normally receive within 16 days, but for the low price, I'm not complaining. Shipping from China via Buffalo is cheaper than the tariff of many (most) local companies!!

The Courier Guy
I think that makes a big difference, mine goes via a Pepstore (paxi).
My dad ordered something two weeks after me and got it before me, because he's in an outlying area, they used a proper courier.
