They are developers who have been around for years so doubt it however I would be more concerened about other buildings the engineers have designed or the contractors have built.

Under construction isn't the same thing as finished

Concrete takes time to cure

Props is a way bigger deal than people think


Those saying match sticks
Have they looked at structures around them

I have a question, please, I have seen references to "saw tooth walls" mentioned frequently in this thread, could someone please explain what that is? Thank you.

yea that was me , mentioning that no idea if the words i chose is best

it is when they build one wall from profile to profile and then put half bricks on sand which they remove later
and you have this shape that they join the next wall into

they often also leave holes for interior walls the same way ie every second row they put a half brick or brick in with sand remove it and tie in the interior wall tommorow or whenever they get to it

the correct way is to end in a stair fashion to carry on later

if you don't see it happening you won't know it happened ie how will a building inspector know if the joining wall has been added already i see them all over building sites from small builders to multi million rand homes regularly

building a corner means extra profiles and slows things down so many don't do it the correct/best practice way

imo tons of **** happen on building sites
that inspectors and engineers don't see

i'm sure this happenes under all regimes
lots depends on the building inspectors/engineers/competent persons work load

unfortunately we have two scape goats that the two sides love to fling around

one the one hand we have old JAN and the other BEE

the truth may be somewhere in the middle

when things go wrong it is selfdom a single thing but often a perfect storm
we can all unite on this is ****ed up and horible for any workers trapped
and relax on trying to hastily find a villain to behead i suppose

True that. Anyway, that's always assuming that his comment was indeed a dig at the "lekker BEE" prophets.

I read it as such but it may not have been.
