Burger Test Lab

Same. The name says it all. It's a specialist BURGER shop. The Grind is not too specific as to what it is. Burger Lab, indicates that it's a specialist Burger joint with sides. As opposed to a Porra take away :p

is that like a brothel? bodies grinding and what not?

and when someone does a google search?
Then because of your brilliant marketing skills you will be ranked #1 and #5.

Just because a restaurant in Germany has the same name doesn't mean they own it world-wide.

Anyhow if you fighting against the name it probably doesn't appeal to you.

Someone mentioned The Grind, that is by the way is a strip club in Detroit that burned down, A local coffee shop and a restaurant in San Francisco.

Any name you think of has probably been used somewhere in the world.

Oh my bad. My thinking was that because it used overseas then I can't use it. Also regarding the Google ranking. I've been in the creative industry for a very long time and have mates that can push it the number 1 ranking.

Then it's settled The Burger Lab it is

Register the domain, so the name is yours, I would do it soon, as in the next hour, google picks up these threads, you never know who is lurking, you could always change it if you want in the future or if someone comes up with an better suggestion for a name. At the moment both theburgerlab and burgerlab are available in the co.za domain
If you decide to stick with the name then you can go into trademarking and all that later, owning the domain and setting up a functioning site is getting your footprint out there.

Already got ;) Started on Friday with 4 orders.

How the sales going? How are you selling if you don't have a venue? My neighbors decided to do something from home, so they just opened a few tables in their garden and sell through a hole in their wall, literally, they removed some bricks from the wall and have opened a small kind of shop thingy through a hole in their wall and some sit down tables.

Properly smoked pulled pork will be next.
Me myself I will queue for smoked pulled pork ... even if I have to drive down to Durbs for it!

Edit: Still don't know where to find these awesome BTL bad boys! Throw together a few test burgers, charge us a few bob to cover your costs and we'll give you an honest review ... Make it happen! Your burgers looks delish!

What are they selling through the hole in the wall? :D

The burgers dont look great though.

I'm sure I read about that place on the burger king thread - or somewhere else here. I suppose you have to try it. Yeh, looking at the pics, the buns look a tad dodge.

Speaking of Cape Town, I see they have a restaurant that was voted 20 best in the world - the test kitchen or something like that. Heck I may have to go check it out, irky mountain and all.
