I have not heard a word from Marite or Burgundy Estate Trustees. It seems the new Rabie Developments will be getting fibre and the installer seems to be Frogfoot. Would still need a good uptake per complex to get it initiated.

getting a flat in ruby estate, slated for construction in feb 2017. Fibre would be amazing. If anyone is taking names or starting a whatsapp group/petition, please count me in.

I received an email from Mweb last month indicating they will be offering fibre in burgundy estate soon. So hopefully everything will be there by end of the year.

I see on Frogfoot's website, Burgundy Estate is listed as a planned area. See screenshot: burgundy.jpg

Telkom/Openserve FTTH is still an option if anyone is interested in dealing with Marite and the Rabie (which is pretty much our new master home owners' assocation). The guys from OpenServe/Telkom are keen on including Burgundy Estate in their FTTH roll-out plan. All they need is a letter of agreement from the Burgundy HOA. I sent a detailed request to Marite for the letter which I was promised would be forwarded to the HOA for consideration, but I have not had any feedback from them. Would be nice having multiple FTTH options I guess.

I spoke to Marite yesterday, they also realised that they where placing the Fibre and they apparently told them to stop since they did not have permission. So I don't think its coming anytime soon. The Fibre is apparently for MTN.

Lololol!! No but I know who that is. Is it a Harley bike?

Lol :) we all have our toys that gives us freedom and I can hear his happiness.
I will say it does sound good, except when I'm having a nap lol.
Nice Family from what I can hear.

I'm waiting for fiber to come down on my side of the road i only see it on Ruby Estate's side and I believe you cant connect across a road. not sure if they will just arrive and dig trenches and and remove bricks from our driveway to lay it, have not had any communication around dinging up driveways unless the estate gave the go ahead.

I saw in Viridian that they were removing bricks and putting them aside. Also they went under dewingerd in Viridian to get to ruby estate side. So they should be able to do it by us as well.

I hope they do, I also hope it will be open access otherwise everything will be controlled by a monopoly. I am happy to pay for the fiber line but I'd like to choose who my data provider is, otherwise we will be shafted by policies like Telkom and MWEB.
Lets see what comes about.

At the moment my 20Meg DSL works great and ha (My company pays my Telcom account. I Have no issues streaming and downloading using VOX Fatpipe. although it costs me around R1300 a month. (My company pays my Telkom connection, and I personally pay for my 300G fatpipe with roll over. I never use all of it so have a terabyte of data available every month.

is it open access ? if not, I'm not interested. my 20meg dsl is still cheaper.

Check out the packages on their website. Good options - Month to month R550 for Uncapped 10up 5down via Vox. 20mbps is about R700.

So you can change your ISP when you want. You have to pay Frogfoot a installation fee though.

Check out the packages and pricing on Frogfoot's website for Burgundy. Not bad at all. Yeah, coverage map shows only that new construction site as under construction. The rest of rabie's new sites are all going to get fibre next. The rest of burgundy just shows "planned".
