Is Burgundy Estate safe/ a decent area?

My sister is looking to buy a town house there. Are you guys happy there in general?

What are the cons? Thanks

Saw some guys laying down draw wire through the sewers in Ruby Estate this morning. Spoke to one and he said they're contractors for (Absacon/Apsicon - didn't hear him say the name properly) that's going to be running fiber soon. Exciting stuff.

I saw them when I got home walking around with the yellow cables! I hope it's not only for the new buildings

Ruby Estate fibre cables laid throughout Marquise Drive yesterday. Installers said should all be fitted within 30 days.

It's very busy in Ruby Estate with all that construction going on though.

I spoke to the company installing the fibre in Ruby Estate (Apexeon Connect).
They estimate we should have Fibre in a month within Ruby Estate. We are free to use any ISP :)

Managed to place an order with afrihost/frogfoot for 100mb but have received no time frame. I did receive the router though on friday it looks pretty great.

Anybody know how long I should expect to wait from this point?

edit: staying in Crimson Road

So afrihost sent me the router very quickly, within a week. When I phoned them they said my fibre will be live on the 18th of April. However, I dug a little deeper and contacted Frogfoot directly who confirmed that there's no ways I'm getting fibre this month. So long story short afrihost screwed up somewhere and I have a router that's gonna be useless for a couple of months it seems.

Just spoke to a lady at Apexeon connect. They are apparently still busy with the installation. Then either vodacom or mtn will buy the site and then resell the service to isps. She said that this will happen with this month. We are welcome to enquire at anytime.

Afrihost also removed the option to get fibre in ruby. Frogfoot doesn't know **** when it comes to fibre in ruby.

We will probably only have live fibre somewhere in May. If we are lucky.

I am in 54 Daimonds.

In regards to this area, I now live there.

No Telkom landlines, I was told the developer of the complex told Telkom "NO". A real pity but what can we do? There is a MSAM rack close to my complex, but no copper between it and the building.

Frogfoot/Vox tell me they can install a FTTH connection to my apartment, in a 6-8 week timeframe. That is pretty much what I expect, however, my concerns are, how are they going to get this thing into the complex, as I need to get permission for this. Any ideas/knowledge/experience of the actual process of physical installation?

Apexeon Connect already laid fibre down in the complex(Assuming you are also talking about Ruby Estate). Vodacom have completed their site surveys to buy the site so fibre will be active pretty soon. All you have to do is get permission from Marite, I think, check with your landlord, so that they can install when it is available.

Frogfoot lost the tender for Fibre in Ruby. We need to speak to the Body Corporate apparently to find out what's happening now.
It looks like it will be OpenServe that gets the tender.
