I'm in de wingerd and don't get the smell. I do smell it when I drive over the n7 on my way to table view.
I have seen some place advertised with FTTH wiring as standard. Of course you pay for your own access.
OT: I am looking at renting in Burgundy Estate.
Firstly: How bad is the smell from the refinary and the silos?
Secondly: Anyone have a property for rent available Feb/March?![]()
I saw them when I got home walking around with the yellow cables! I hope it's not only for the new buildings
Ruby Estate fibre cables laid throughout Marquise Drive yesterday. Installers said should all be fitted within 30 days.
Managed to place an order with afrihost/frogfoot for 100mb but have received no time frame. I did receive the router though on friday it looks pretty great.
Anybody know how long I should expect to wait from this point?
edit: staying in Crimson Road
I spoke to the company installing the fibre in Ruby Estate (Apexeon Connect).
They estimate we should have Fibre in a month within Ruby Estate. We are free to use any ISP![]()
Apexeon Connect. 12 likes on Facebook. Their website is down 99% of the time. They never respond to emails. We're looking great!
How long did it take for you to recieve this? I also signed up but recieved nothing as yet...
In regards to this area, I now live there.
No Telkom landlines, I was told the developer of the complex told Telkom "NO". A real pity but what can we do? There is a MSAM rack close to my complex, but no copper between it and the building.
Frogfoot/Vox tell me they can install a FTTH connection to my apartment, in a 6-8 week timeframe. That is pretty much what I expect, however, my concerns are, how are they going to get this thing into the complex, as I need to get permission for this. Any ideas/knowledge/experience of the actual process of physical installation?
