Can Cell C sim function in MTN Modem?

Hi Guys.

I was kind of curious about this. I have MTN F@stlink E153 Broadband USB modem and I was wondering if I use Cell C sim in it, will I be able to access the internet? Or is there a particular setup I must do in order for this to work. I'm yet to try it.

Yes, but not at 3G or faster speeds. It's a hardware limitation - the E153 does not support the 900 MHz 3G band, I'm afraid.

Since we're on the topic of modems being used with different providers, I decided not to create a new post.

I have a Vodaphone branded hauwei K3520 modem and I'm using a cellc sim card in it. When I got hold of this modem, I haphazardly assumed that I would need to flash the modem with cellc software in order for it to work. I somehow managed to get it flashed with cellc software which doesn't work. If I plug in the modem, it autoruns the setup for installing the cellc software. However, I then downloaded "Vodaphone Mobile Broadband" software onto my laptop and it works with the cellc sim. The modem isn't mine and I need to return it soon so I need it to have the original software/firmware installed on it. I've been searching online but could find a straightforward solution. Does anyone perhaps know how to get this modem back to its original software/firmware?

If modem is not yours, then you shouldn't do things like that in the first place.

As perhaps you should ask before...
But if someone has the same modem and create CD-ROM image, you can flash it back.
While re-reading your post I think your problem is that Cell C software didn't have drivers for your modem. So perhaps you should find generic CD-ROM image for compatible Huawei model, but I don't know model number, you must find it yourself.
