Cancelling DSTV

Just tell them to cancel on the last day of the month, if you have paid for the full month then they would have no reason to cut off your services before then, or else they would owe you money for the remaining days.
Thanks ; know what to tell them, but a bit of a "control freak". Unless I'm the one carrying it out, I don't necessarily trust the (final) outcome.

Still some things to consider before I decide on cancelling satellite with them ; overriding it all is the convenience factor, for 3 in the household - 2 of them beyond "elderly".
 
They signed me up for Disney + withou me knowing, used teh whatsapp channel to cancel it last night and worked well. Amount owed to them automatically decreased
Great to know if they try the same Disney trick with me.

Their WhatsApp app works really well, most of the time. The only time it sometimes doesn't is within the 1st few hours of the next billing run (again, my case, 1st of the month) and so can't upgrade / downgrade, or confirm one, come back with what's owing etc.

Invariably sorted by early hours of the morning (5am, 6am).
 
I have successfully cancelled my DStv subscription through their site, with no issues. You just go to your profile to do it. Click disconnect and there you go.

Two things to take note of. You can disconnect up to the day before your payment date. Just to be clear, as I don't want any misunderstandings. If your payment date is the 20th, you can cancel on the 19th without owing for the next month.

The 2nd thing is to keep in mind it isn't as immediate, as they claim. I don't know how long it took them to turn off my subscription but it wasn't in the first 15 minutes after clicking disconnect. I know it was within a 4 hour time span. So I would advise you not to do this at 23:59, 23:50 or even 20:00. I'd give a few hours to do it.

Just one other thing. I did not have any long term contract of any sort with Dstv. I was a month to month basis. There may be other terms applied to those of you in a contract with them.

Have downgraded (again) for January ; depending on how some things work out, might cancel end of the month.

But what I'm paying them now won't "break the bank".
