Cannot connect to Afrihost

For the past 2 days I cannot connect with my Afrihost sim. I get an 'Authentication failed' message if I use my E367 modem's dialup interface. If I use windows 7's menu I get a 'additional log on information might be required' message. I still have data remaining, but I suppose I will lose it today. The APN settings are as they should be and have worked since I signed up in January.
My MTN connection works 100% as I am sending this message via MTN.
 
They are aware of the issue and are working on it at this moment.
 
An sms informing users would be nice. Instead I had to purchase a bundle with another provider to investigate the problem after spending time troubleshooting my hardware. Argh.
 
And I don't get the chance to use my remaining gigs for the month - which is very annoying since I topped up recently. Not feeling too impressed and just venting... I know these things happen, but not too long ago on the last day of the month something also went screwball.
 
Man, this is getting on my nerves.


Also videos are stuttering, as in, it will buffer fine then stops playing (while buffer is still far).
 
My mobile connection is as dead as a doornail too...and they haven't updated the network status on their website since 15h15.

Try changing your primary DNS to 8.8.8.8 for the mobile connection. I changed mine manually, and it's working. Just a temporary workaround for now.
 
Agreed. Sms or email notification would have been nice and would have factored in on how much 3G data I needed to buy for myself today to tide me over :mad:

Currently connected on 3G , typing this on my iPad :mad:

edit: Thank small mercies for my FNB Connect account. Less :mad: now...

I asked about them letting the data carry over as I could not use it yesterday ... Got the below response:

So will have to see what the bosses think of this.
 
I signed up 3 days ago, I cannot connect. On Afrihost the light is green for mobile, but mine is not working

Try now/today there have been issues last day or so... ? Just double check again

I do agree. I am not happy with the data I lost and this will be nice if they can do it... I don't really care if this is mtn mockup afrihost should sort out the mobile side.A lot of people also topped up that went straight down the drain.
