Telkom offers 10Gb free wifi with my contract (Samsung S4 mini), however i cant use it.

I switch on the wifi, search and find the Telkom wifi, but then it requires me to enter user details which I dont have.

I then called their call centre that couldnt assist me and went to the store and was told to register my phone's wifi address on their site. The gentleman told me that I cannot register via my phone.
So i went on the site but there was no option to register.

Please help with this. I'm missing out on the data every month.

I am curious to see how this works as well.

I keep seeing that I have x amount free GB on the Telkom Mobile WiFi although not sure what sort of Hotspots I can use it at.

I found a Telkom Mobile AP and Telkom Mobile Guest AP yesterday, only the guest was open. Connected to it, Whatsapp was working but web browsing wasn't - nothing loaded at all.

Hi phoenix82

Firstly you need to be on one of our hotspots to be able to use the service. Once you are there you need to do the following steps:

- enable WiFi
- Click on it (WIFI)
- Select Telkom Mobile connect
- Change EAP method to SIM
- Click on connect.

For the nearest hotpot in you area, please click: http://www.telkommobile.co.za/coverage/wifi/

Regards
Telkom Mobile

How to connect to Telkom WiFi HotSpot

Hi All,

When I connect to a "1 Telkom Connect" Mobile WiFi hotspot [in the varies malls like Brooklyn and The Grove], I'm not presented with a SIM option. Only the following: PEAP, TLS, TTLS, PWD....

Not sure why, but assume it could be related to a resent update to Android 5. I have a One Plus One.

And yes, I also have the 10GB WiFi monthly data bundle not use able at all

If you can't find the EAP sim method then I'd suggest logging on to Telkom Mobile's web portal (http://www.telkommobile.co.za/login/) and adding your One Plus One's mac address, then connecting to the TM Guest network as MickeyD noted above, should be a short term solution, until there is a fix for it.

These are the 2 correct answers. If your device has the Telkom sim in it, connect to "Telkom Mobile Connect" and set authentication type to SIM. If your device doesn't support this, use the Telkom internet portal to set your phone up as a 'second device' by entering your phone's MAC Address. (This is accessed in the WiFi menu iirc) When using the second method, you must connect to the "Telkom Mobile Guest" network instead.

Also, when typing in the MAC address on the internet portal, use all CAPS for the letters. That one had me stumped for hours.

I went this route and it works a charm
