Cape News

Hey you're the one that hates (is frightened of?) women in power :/
I don't care who it is, as long as they do the job and stop just talking about it or trying to spin problems away. (found that link yet or was it an incorrect claim - my mind remains open?)

Agreed, if everyone just put him on ignore, this forum would be much better.
You're being pretty offensive and I'm getting very tired of the ad homs. Please debate on topic or go play in the TK. If you don't like my opinion then by all means don't read it. I don't have to like or read yours. Getting all hot and bothered because someone is writing stuff you don't agree with is highly immature.

Zuma not our president: Cape secessionists

CAPE TOWN - A party campaigning for independence for the Western Cape announced on Thursday it would refuse to recognise Jacob Zuma as president.
“Zuma is the illegitimate colonial occupier of the Cape,” Cape Party deputy leader Adrian Kay said in a statement.
The party stood only in the Western Cape in last month’s polls, where it received 2552 votes, 0.13 percent of the total number cast in the ballot for the provincial legislature.
Kay said however his party believed the vote “confirmed the independence of the Cape from South Africa”.
“The voters made a clear statement, that this is not South Africa: this is the Cape.”
Kay said it was only a matter of time before progressive people relocated to the Cape to build a prosperous future in a new country as “Azania” had failed.

Zuma is your president... deal with it....

and no matter what you WANT people to think, he is the legitimate president and that applies to you nutjobs in WC who think you are an independent country.

How does 0.13 percent of the vote "confirm" anything... you're nowhere near getting the majority of the votes, and honestly I'd be surprised if you guys got more than 5% at any given point in the future.

I can think of one forumite who won't be getting a visa to visit.:p

I can think of one forumite... who couldn't care less....

Its not like the Cape is going to get its independence in my lifetime.

Ok, I originally said R10000 it won't happen in my lifetime...

Thats too open ended.

You guys are a political party, surely you have a timeline towards this independence.

Lay it on the line and we'll bet on it.. How about that?

Rather put some masking tape where your mouth is ;) just kidding. But seriously, you'll see - we have the Cape Party HQ in Clairemont, you can even phone them on 021 671 8668. We have Reps. in almost every municipality in the Western Cape and we're laying down a solid framework. We have the funding, but more importantly the WILL, and you'll see- we're gonna grow alot over the next 4 years. Just google the cape party and see what comes up.

We believe we can do better by "going it alone" - politically anyway. Trade will continue as normal and it will be a peaceful secession. No need to worry. Do you really believe you are currently living in a state which has your best interests at heart?

Do you really believe the ANC, (COPE BTW served in the ANC for years and did nothing,) will protect the Independence of the judiciary, the fight of corruption, (scorpions,) the High court's verdicts, media Independence, Party transparency, fight political intimidation, etc etc etc..?

Wake up.

No, thats not good enough..
and I'm not doing the legwork.

You seem to be intimately involved with this crowd.

What is the timeline for the Cape getting its independence?... Then we can take a decent wager on that timeline.

I don't believe the ANC will protect anything but themselves, but I also don't believe you will get your little dream of independence. It is you who should wake up I reckon.

/Buys some masking tape and some cable ties :p

Look, they can't give a time line until they have all the support. Wait until they get into parliament or council, then ask them.

Ok, then a timeline for them to get into parliament or council..

I'm not fussy... They have to have a definitive timeline for SOMETHING.

I presume nobody in this party actually voted in the national election.
If you did, then you voted for a democratic system in which the majority party elects the president of the country. Bit late to refuse to recognise Jacob Zuma as president, if you took part in putting him there (whether you voted for ANC or not)

Lol! One of the comment reads "He is innocent until proven guilty.", double standards as opposed to Zuma me thinks. Anyway, I'm interested what the DA will do for the western cape and to see if poor people's lives will change for the better or not in the next 5 years.

It won't. Not even if the ANC were in charge.
